[WS-CLI-001-49] Add TUI guide downloads and findings - #691
WS-CLI-001-49 — Guide documents and findings in the contributor TUI.
Goal
Continue #688 with usable guide downloads and checker evidence without copying
resource IDs into another command. No product mutation or backend change.
Intent And Planning Context
Bounded record.
Plan review required staged publication, typed findings and explicit keyboard
states; those corrections are incorporated. Human merge remains required.
Submission detail adds Findings with deliberate page continuation and exact
task/Submission binding; checker evidence never implies acceptance.
A shared staged-download owner replaces duplicated publication code in task
guide/project guide/task-source commands. Background work cannot publish a
final file; only the still-current TUI receipt publishes.
Existing validated findings decoder now supplies typed Page/Run plus unchanged
Raw output for explicit CLI consumers. No duplicate endpoint client.
README, terminal design, capability ledger and initiative boundaries updated.
Scope Control
CLI owners/tests and affected documentation only. The already-pinned x/sys
dependency becomes direct for Windows atomic protected-DACL file creation;
no new dependency or version. No backend,
workflow, release settings, product writes, token storage or polling.
The preferred L1 diff-size guideline is exceeded for the shared-owner extraction,
native interaction tests and failure-boundary regressions; rationale is in record49.
Evidence
Current candidate: 13b886bb2289c480fea231f20fdec28d4d67ef2b.
All four native platform jobs and release-preview assembly passed in run
40332566694, including Windows protected-DACL assertions. Agent Gates passed
in run 40332566723.
Current candidate: all 105 local process tests passed against the rebuilt binary (196.99s).
Go build, full unit tests, vet, dependency tidy and download/TUI race checks
passed. Backend run 40332566850 passed, including its final summary job.
Downloaded evidence independently confirms 11,238 unique
completions, zero skips/deselections, and exact collected-versus-completed
equality across 17 lanes. Its merge commit c4ed15c contains this exact PR head
and main ae788e6. Hosted CLI HTTP/process tests (542) and API tests (28) passed.
Go tests/vet, Ruff, links, stale wording and Commitrail checks passed locally
during implementation. Hosted CLI HTTP and real-public-API checks passed.
All independent review tracks are closed on 13b886b; all required hosted
execution workflows passed. Ready for independent human review/approval; not merged.
Early verification caught literal q in destination input quitting, pending-read
refresh being ignored, a heading-before-data fixture race and stale findings
handoff/docs. Repairs include discriminating regressions. Native Windows found
an invalid test filename and an incorrect POSIX-mode privacy assumption. Private
Windows staging now supplies a protected current-user-only DACL at atomic file
creation relative to the bound directory; post-creation permission tightening
was rejected because it permits a retained foreign-reader handle race.
Do not treat earlier development binaries as final proof.
Test Delta
Added typed result/raw-preservation, staged publication/race/abort, TUI state,
and native PTY/ConPTY guide/findings cases. Existing explicit download/submission
process regressions are retained. No tests removed or skipped; CI is unchanged.
Impact-Routed Reviewer Results
At exact head 13b886b, QA/test delta, documentation and architecture/reuse
reviews pass with no open findings. Security is PASS AFTER FIXES with
the passing native Windows permission proof. The initial native failure
was a generic descriptor builder supplying SACL state; the replacement creates
an absolute DACL-only descriptor with no elevation or post-creation repair.
No merge-readiness claim until review and required CI complete.
External Review
Prior-head hosted execution gates passed. Earlier run 40319174623 was superseded/cancelled
when the PR became ready; run 40323201721 is the completed replacement.
CodeRabbit initially rate-limited review, then returned one valid stale guide
selection finding. A shorter refreshed document list could crash confirmation. 13b886b normalizes the selection after validated WorkContext receipt. Four
refresh/tab × shorter/empty regression cases preserve exact confirmation identity
and no pre-confirmation I/O. The old code panics under the new test; QA/security
independently reproduced that negative control. All affected internal tracks
rechecked this repair and passed. CodeRabbit inspected pushed 13b886b and
resolved its thread; no open review conversations remain. The automatic review
rerun was rate-limited, not a substantive approval; the pushed repair was
separately inspected and acknowledged in the resolved thread. No unrelated
fixes or CI changes.
Human Review Focus
Confirm download destination/confirmation usability, no stale publication,
accurate run identity/status display and remaining CLI handoffs. Publication and
hosted product certification remain separate from this interactive slice.
The CLI adds paginated checker findings and a TUI Guide section for confirmed, verified document downloads. A shared download package provides staged, no-overwrite publication for CLI and TUI callers. Tests and documentation cover these interactions and their boundaries.
Changes: Contributor Guide Downloads and Findings
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Typed findings API and CLI output cli/internal/api/submission_reads.go, cli/internal/api/submission_reads_test.go, cli/internal/command/submission.go
SubmissionFindings now returns typed exact-run or paginated results alongside Raw. The CLI uses Raw for its existing output paths.
A shared package manages private stages and no-overwrite publication. Existing CLI guide and source download commands now use it. Platform-specific implementations and tests cover private file creation.
The TUI adds ordered Guide selection, confirmed downloads, and paginated Findings. It checks response identity and freshness before accepting results or publishing downloads. Tests and documentation describe the interactions and retained boundaries.

Flow-Research/workstream#688: The issue lists locked-guide reads, verified downloads, and checker-findings detail as remaining TUI scope addressed by this PR.
Flow-Research/workstream#493: This PR adds TUI browsing for checker findings consumed by the contributor experience, without implementing the checker runtime.
A guide list that shrinks during refresh can cause the TUI to exit when a download is confirmed. Clamp the selection before opening the download prompt.
