[CLI/TUI] Complete the interactive terminal journey in bounded API-backed slices #688

Open

Description

@Abiorh001

Intent

Complete the terminal experience beyond the merged read-only contributor workbench. Reuse the existing Go API client and public contracts; no invented endpoints, local policy decisions, or compatibility subsystem.

Delivered baseline

Main provides project/Ready/Mine/Submissions browsing, pagination, task and Submission detail, context/intake reads, plain mode and CLI handoffs. Native terminal proof covers Linux, Windows, Intel macOS and Apple Silicon. Explicit CLI commands already expose supported mutations; this issue is interactive experience, not a claim those CLI commands are absent.

Remaining scope, in order

  • Audit each proposed screen/action against current routes, typed client methods and authority guards; identify actual backend gaps before implementation.
  • Add locked guide reading/verified download and actual checker-findings detail using existing owners.
  • Add deliberate claim/start with exact target confirmation and fresh backend authorization.
  • Add ZIP selection/preparation, intake feedback, separate immutable submission confirmation and exact-contract unknown-outcome recovery. Do not assume all POSTs support replay or mark recovery complete merely because an attempt exists.
  • Add attempt observation and contribution evidence with bounded refresh, stale/denial handling and explicit acceptance-versus-payment wording.
  • Add scoped Manager/Finance/Operator/Audit navigation; system catalogue [CLI/TUI] Add authorized system-covered project catalogue and CLI list #663 is available, exact-project access remains distinct. No unfinished human-review actions.
  • Prove connected contributor journey and failure recovery using real PostgreSQL/artifact custody/workers, plus native terminal checks on all four platforms.

Boundaries

Follow docs/design/cli-terminal-experience.md and per-slice Commitrail plans. No automatic mutation retries, token storage, generic HTTP console or implicit chained writes. Backend determines authority, locked lineage and lifecycle truth. Each implementation slice requires focused review and human merge. #562 separately owns actual binary publication and public installation proof; hosted deployment/Flow/S3 verification is not established by TUI tests.

Started bounded implementation WS-CLI-001-49 on codex/tui-guide-findings: assigned-task Guide selection with explicit verified single-document download, and paged exact-Submission Findings. Existing public APIs cover this slice. Plan review identified cancellation/publication risk; corrected plan requires shared private staging registered before async dispatch, only current-screen publication and cleanup independent of late response delivery. Revised plan passed with implementation-level concurrency/native cleanup risks retained. No product mutations, backend changes or release settings are included. Baseline Go TUI/command tests passed; new native process regressions are being added. This is work in progress, not a delivered capability.

PR #691 now contains the guide/findings slice at 337ba79: locked document metadata, confirmed verified downloads and paged checker evidence. Review corrections are pushed, including refresh cancellation and native Windows private staging. Final reviewer rechecks and four-platform CI are running; this is not yet delivered on main. Claim/start, preparation/submission recovery, Contribution Evidence and scoped management remain separate unchecked items here.

PR #691 (WS-CLI-001-49), exact head e5f5e3e, now has completed local verification and closed internal reviews: 105 process tests; Go build/tests/vet/tidy and download/TUI race tests; security, QA/test-delta, architecture/reuse and docs passes. Four native platform jobs and release-preview assembly passed, as did hosted CLI HTTP and real API tests. Moving it out of draft for human/external review; broader backend CI remains running/queued, so this is not yet a merge-readiness claim. It is not merged and the Guide/Findings checkbox remains open until delivery. Remaining interactive claim/start, preparation/submission/recovery, contribution evidence, scoped management and connected journey proof remain in this issue. Binary publication remains separate in #562.

Update for #691: CodeRabbit identified a real stale guide-selection crash after a shorter refreshed document list. Fixed in pushed 13b886b; regression fails on old code and covers refresh/Tab with shorter/empty lists, exact confirmation identity and no early I/O. All internal reviewer tracks rechecked and passed; CodeRabbit verified the pushed fix and resolved its thread. Exact-head Go tests/vet/race and 105 process tests pass. Fresh Agent Gates and all four native platforms plus release-preview assembly pass. Backend run40332566850 is still executing, so final merge readiness is pending. PR remains non-draft, not merged; remaining TUI checklist stays open.

PR #691 is ready for independent human review/approval at 13b886b: non-draft, conflict-free, not merged. Final Backend run 40332566850, native release proof 40332566694 and Agent Gates 40332566723 all passed. Downloaded final evidence confirms 11,238 unique backend completions, exact collected/completed equality and zero skips/deselections across 17 lanes; tested merge c4ed15c contains this PR head and main ae788e6. Exact-head local verification passed: 105 process tests, Go tests, vet and race checks. Hosted CLI verification passed: 542 HTTP/process tests and 28 API tests. CodeRabbit verified the pushed stale-selection repair and resolved its only thread; all internal reviewers closed PASS. The Guide/Findings delivery checkbox remains open until human merge. Remaining TUI scope: deliberate claim/start, ZIP preparation/submission with exact-contract recovery, contribution evidence, scoped management and connected real-service journey proof. No release was published; this issue remains open.
