The new archive check leaves title, created_at, and duration unchecked. If Twitch returns a missing or wrong-shaped value, the endpoint still returns success; missing fields disappear from the JSON. The desktop utility could receive missing or unusable data without an error.
Check these fields before returning them, including the timestamp and duration formats, and add malformed-archive tests.

official Twitch Helix API rate limits client ID access token combination
💡 Result:
Twitch’s official Helix documentation says rate limits are **not generally applied to each Client ID/access-token pair**:
- **App access tokens:** requests use an app-level bucket.
- **User access tokens:** limits are applied **per Client ID, per user, per minute**—so the user matters, not just the particular token string.
- Twitch uses a token bucket; endpoint costs may vary. Responses include `Ratelimit-Limit`, `Ratelimit-Remaining`, and `Ratelimit-Reset`. A 429 may also have endpoint-specific causes. ([dev.twitch.tv](https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/guide?utm_source=openai))
Separately, the `Client-Id` header must match the Client ID associated with the access token; that’s an authentication requirement, not the rate-limit key. ([dev.twitch.tv](https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference?utm_source=openai))

Limit unauthenticated requests before reading Theo's Twitch connection.
GET has no caller authentication or request limit. Each accepted request performs two Clerk calls and up to 13 uncached Twitch workflow calls: two stream checks, one archive lookup, and up to ten marker-page requests. The Twitch user lookup has a 60-second revalidation setting, so the original 14-call count applies when that lookup is not cached.
These workflow calls use Theo's Clerk-managed Twitch user token. Existing live-topic and marker reads also use that creator token. Twitch rate limits user access tokens per Client ID and user. Exhausting that bucket can make the route return 503, because the route converts upstream failures into upstream_unavailable.
Add a shared or platform request limit before getLatestPublicTheoStream() and keep Cache-Control: no-store. A blind 30–60 second result cache is not equivalent: the documented workflow is uncached, and consumers may retry while Twitch finalizes a new archive. If caching is used, define the allowed freshness window and ensure transition responses do not block completion retries.

Theo's post-stream utility needs the latest completed broadcast and all markers without a browser login. Add public, read-only
GET /api/streams/theo/latest, limited to Theo's channel, using the creator's existing Clerk-managed Twitch connection on the server. No new environment variables or caller credentials are required. The endpoint selects the newest archive, checks offline status before and after reading markers, walks all marker pages, and rejects partial or inconsistent results. Responses explicitly select public fields, never include tokens or upstream error details, and use
Cache-Control: no-store. The existing marker/offset parsing and authenticated UI are unchanged. The contract and error statuses are documented indocs/public-stream-api.md.Validation: frozen pnpm 8 install; Next type generation and
tsc --noEmit; ESLint; all 55 Vitest tests; production build. Tests cover pagination, live transitions, malformed/upstream failures, duplicate markers, cursor limits, and sanitized public responses.Deployment of this PR enables the desktop utility's direct connection. This PR has not been merged.
