getManifest and readRange to read and parse manifest data in bounded chunks
instead of allocating, copying, and decoding the entire declared range at once.
Preserve the central-directory boundary and short-read checks, and retain
support for the documented large-manifest workflow.

Payloads of up to 50 TiB (DSPX-4502, DSPX-4651) need manifests well over 10 MB, so the fixed cap rejected legitimate TDFs. A declared manifest size the archive cannot back is still rejected: adjustHeaders and readRange require the manifest to end before the central directory, and short reads fail with InvalidFileError. A manifest too large to decode (engine string limit, about 512 MiB) is now reported as too large rather than invalid JSON, and allocation RangeErrors from the chunker become InvalidFileError. The remaining limits are tracked in DSPX-5201 (hostile remote server) and DSPX-5202 (512 MiB decode ceiling). Signed-off-by: Dave Mihalcik <dmihalcik@virtru.com>

Jira: https://virtru.atlassian.net/browse/DSPX-4651 (epic DSPX-4502)
Stacked on #1079. It relies on #1079's
readRangefor its safety argument. Retarget tomainonce #1079 and #1017 merge. What / why
This removes the fixed 10 MB
manifestMaxSizecheck inZipReader.getManifest, so thereis no manifest size cap by default. 50 TiB payloads (DSPX-4502 / DSPX-4651) produce
manifests far beyond 10 MB, so a fixed ceiling rejects legitimate TDFs.
A declared manifest size that the archive can't back is still rejected:
adjustHeaders(duringgetCentralDirectory) and fix(sdk): typed errors and bounds checks for hostile zip offsets (DSPX-4591) #1079'sreadRangeboth require themanifest to end before the central directory starts.
InvalidFileError.#1017's 16 MiB central directory bound stays, because it bounds the central directory,
not the manifest.
Errors for very large manifests are now clearer:
as
InvalidFileError: … too large to decodeinstead of "not valid JSON".RangeErrorfrom the chunker becomesInvalidFileError: … unable to allocate [N] bytes. No option, CLI flag or
tdf.tssetting referenced the cap, so this changes no API.This replaces the read-side cap that the DSPX-4651 draft stack (#1019 / #1021) raises to
256 MiB and checks on write. Those PRs will be updated to drop the cap.
Risk / known limits
This touches untrusted-input parsing on the decrypt path. Without the cap, two limits are
left open and are tracked as follow-ups:
fromUrlsources, a hostile server controls both the reportedlength and the central directory offset. It can therefore make the client buffer an
arbitrarily large manifest response before authorization.
needs a single JS string. This PR makes that failure report clearly; it doesn't lift
the limit.
Large-file end-to-end coverage is being added separately in opentdf/tests xtest.
Tests
The old 10 MB rejection tests in
lib/tests/mocha/unit/zip.spec.ts(including #1017's"reports oversized manifests without 32 bit wraparound") are replaced by:
central directory
InvalidFileErrorInvalidFileErrorstubs
TextDecoder.decode, so it doesn't allocate 512 MiB)Checks run
cd lib && npx mocha 'dist/web/tests/mocha/**/*.spec.js'with the test server running:578 passing, 6 pending.
