Add a server management page that calls the Console backend proxy to display and manage enrolled hbbs/hbbr services.

  • Display service status, version, uptime, public keys and logs; distinguish native registrations from Console heartbeat status.
  • Inspect and close relay sessions with interruption confirmation, edit persistent bans and show synchronization status, and save/apply schema-driven configuration with masked secrets and separate dirty/pending states.
  • Gate routes/actions with servers.* permissions, localize menu and RBAC labels, and support long-running management requests through the frontend and Nginx.
  • Recover removed node selection, retry the first configuration load without overwriting edits, clear stale forms before switching service/node, and initialize bans on the first successful response even after an initial failure.

CI scope

Retain permanent server API/access/localization regressions in existing PR/push CI; remove the temporary manual dispatch trigger. No standalone workflow is added.

Validation

CI passed on e304022: server API/access/localization tests, lint/formatting, TypeScript checks, production build and bundle analysis. No local compilation, application execution or tests were performed.

Deployment and coordination

Requires the companion Console proxy/node agent and managed server APIs. Browsers receive no node/server management credentials. Only relay sessions can be closed through this page; direct sessions retain the existing Console mechanism.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Adds a server management page that displays node and service data from the Console proxy. The change adds server permissions, configuration and ban management, localized labels, tests, CI coverage, and deployment documentation.

Changes

Server management

Layer / File(s) Summary
Console server API
src/services/rustdesk-console/server.ts, src/services/rustdesk-console/server.test.ts, nginx.conf.template
Adds server data types and Console proxy helpers for nodes, services, relay sessions, logs, configuration, and bans. Tests cover request paths, methods, payloads, and timeouts. The /api/ proxy read and send timeouts are set to 300s.
Server page and access
src/access.ts, src/access.test.ts, config/routes.ts, src/pages/servers/index.tsx
Adds the /servers route and five server permission flags. The page polls node data and displays service status, peers, and relay sessions. Permission checks control service operations and session disconnection.
Configuration and bans
src/pages/servers/index.tsx
Adds configuration editing and application, and ban-rule status and editing. The page displays logs and includes configuration and bans tabs when the corresponding access checks pass.
Labels and supporting coverage
src/locales/*/menu.ts, src/locales/*/pages.ts, src/pages/roles/rbacPresentation.test.ts, README.md, .github/workflows/ci.yml
Adds server labels in five locales and RBAC locale coverage. The README describes the page and permissions. CI supports manual runs and executes the selected test suites.

Switching services could briefly allow settings from one service to be saved to another. Clear the configuration immediately on selection change before merging, or accept this bounded risk.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to eb545

The dashboard separates viewing from privileged actions and keeps service-management credentials out of its request helpers. However, ban-policy recovery can make an uninitialized policy editable, potentially submitting unintended removals. Backend authorization, policy-conflict handling, and recovery guarantees remain unverified.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · inferred: If the initial ban request fails, the next successful poll sets ban status and enables the editor but does not initialize its fields. Saving untouched fields submits empty device-ID and IP arrays for the selected node; a reused form may instead submit earlier values. This can unintentionally weaken persistent policy if the backend accepts those arrays as replacement policy. Busy locking and synchronization-status display do not establish that the editable policy belongs to the successfully loaded node.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The intended administrative scope includes every enrolled node returned by the backend, both managed service types, persistent configuration and bans, and hbbr relay sessions. Service-wide stop, restart, and apply can interrupt connections. Effective cross-node or tenant exposure cannot be bounded without backend ownership enforcement; no host-shell or infrastructure authority is established by the inspected client.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — An operator with ban-edit authority can encounter an initial load failure, recover through polling, and save an uninitialized policy as empty arrays. This is a policy-integrity failure path, not a demonstrated privilege escalation. Backend replacement semantics determine whether enforced bans are removed.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • inferred — Caller-controlled node IDs, session IDs, configuration values, and ban arrays reach privileged Console endpoints. Browser gates and bearer-token attachment are evidenced, but direct-request authorization and enrolled-node ownership checks remain unverified. A backend bypass is not established.
  • observed — Secret schema fields use password inputs, but response values are copied into the form and all string-valued fields are submitted. Visual masking alone does not establish backend redaction or preservation of empty or masked secrets.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Busy state locks selectors and forms during operations, and success triggers refresh. Rejected operations report failure and release the lock without a dedicated reconciliation step. Periodic polling continues, but configuration stops refreshing after its first successful load. These client mechanisms do not establish safe retries after ambiguous completion or conflict protection between operators editing security policy.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Bind ban-form initialization to the first successful response for the selected node, clear previous-node fields, and keep saving unavailable until that initialization completes. Preserve subsequent edits without confusing an empty form with an intentionally empty policy.
  • proposed — Establish the companion backend contract for endpoint-specific authorization and node scope, stale-write rejection, secret preservation, and operation reconciliation after timeout. Durable per-service synchronization should retain pending policy across service recovery and rollback.

so `getServerConfig` is retried on later polls until it succeeds, including
after an initial failure. Track whether the config has loaded and set that state
only after a successful response; reset and populate `configForm` only on that
first successful load so subsequent polls do not reset user edits.
