Ghosttea 0.14.0 upgrades the embedded terminal engine to Ghostty 1.4 (83fb95624b0439ee660c2679b43b38c8b63769cd) and fixes the desktop and iPhone regressions found during Vibefield’s migration. It includes released 0.13.8’s conditional session release and acknowledged view disposal.

Changes

  • Port host-owned terminal geometry and embedding patches to Ghostty 1.4 / Zig 0.17; update Unicode widths and bundled emoji fonts.
  • Preserve separate Windows dynamic/static CRT artifacts and normalize Darwin runtime symbols before packaging.
  • Add authenticated routed selection copy, including Unicode/scrollback and bounded stale-response handling.
  • Recover foreground routed panes after retry exhaustion and gate resumed input until the host accepts demand and sends fresh status.
  • Scale mirrored Apple glyphs from source-frame text metrics and draw solid blocks/quadrants as cell geometry, removing Claude mascot seams.
  • Preserve host cell boundaries for joined emoji and honor configured Cargo target directories.
  • Pin both Swift manifests to verified Truffle 0.7.26, including its canonical DNS-name metadata fix, and regenerate resolved/provenance locks and the iOS inventory.

Published prerequisites

Truffle 0.7.26 completed its full release pipeline. Its final SwiftPM tag is 101889f676d32989e2c32295c3b608ccd5972c02; all 13 npm packages and three crates were independently verified. Vibefield must use the same Swift version when adopting this release.

The reviewed VT archives were promoted unchanged to ghostty-vt-b2a959db6a0d, including both Windows CRT consumers. Apple artifact ghosttea-apple-native-fcf9a17cce90 is published and pinned. Its native source digest remains 5c36ad009576b86696efe06e1c1cc359fdaf7c8076dae57c367bbc8bdb270282 after the Swift dependency update.

Validation

  • 631 JavaScript tests and 428 Rust tests passed after the 0.13.8 rebase; three existing Rust tests remain ignored.
  • With Truffle 0.7.26: all 307 Swift tests passed against the published native archive, including block gaps, resize, appearance and routed attachment regressions. A fresh downstream package linked all 18 public Swift library products.
  • Published-archive byte audit, native source digest, manifest parity, generated iOS metadata, formatting and lint checks passed. The Cargo workspace publish dry-run passed without uploading.
  • Final macOS/Windows desktop CI, iOS hardening and published-artifact audit must pass on the current head before merging/tagging.

The migration and regression-history documents distinguish historical device, Godview, ABI/ASan, Windows CRT and mixed Truffle evidence from the final release checks. Latency remains unqualified at the user’s direction. Physical Windows GPU behavior, real Wi-Fi/cellular handoff and long suspension are not claimed; the existing SSH production-readiness blockers remain documented.

Vibefield PR #12 carries the product integration and iOS UI refinements. Its final registry pins and consumer qualification follow publication of 0.14.0.

Resolve the Apple native library directory through Cargo metadata and pin the producer to that same path. Package consumers now unpack fresh fixture-owned archives so an SSD or shared target cannot select stale crates.

Verified check:desktop, configured-directory regression tests, Swift manifest parity, and packaged npm/Rust consumers of the corrected 1.4 CI artifacts.
- Update only the font-dependent Metal pixel hash. Restoring the two old Noto fonts reproduces the old hash exactly; geometry, edge map and tolerances stay unchanged. The final combined Apple artifact passes all 80 Metal/frame tests and links all 18 public Swift products.
- Record corrected macOS and both Windows CRT candidate provenance, native/FFI/package checks, Godview pane/copy behavior, mixed-client Truffle probes and the checksum-verified SSD cache relocation. Preserve rejected artifacts and failed attempts.
- Retain open qualification gates: final rebuilt-package iPhone run pending by user choice, latency unqualified, six full-workspace helper timeouts despite unchanged baseline/candidate rechecks, and an intermittent terminal-door teardown timeout whose matched controls passed. Full landing gates and release promotion remain open.
- Validation: check:desktop passed; corrected-artifact test:desktop passed 424 Rust and 623 JS tests plus FFI/ASan; packaged consumers and source/font/BOM metadata checks passed. No release artifacts or production consumer pins are promoted.
- Reconfirm the exact final Apple package on the connected iPhone: all 833 production terminal tests pass, with zero failures or skips; the device font golden passes in all four compatibility attempts. Preserve app, archive and helper binary identities.
- Record the final real-Truffle gate honestly: both baseline and candidate phone apps time out joining the tailnet, before peer discovery or terminal connection. Both Mac fixtures joined and both key parsers agree; no environmental cause is established and no final-run mirror/copy pass is claimed. Earlier passing matrices remain historical evidence.
- Preserve the initial baseline fixture layout failure and its recovery from the same retained executable bytes. Product code and assertions are unchanged. Every QA app was removed, both retry hosts exited zero, and the final process census is empty.
- Validation: final physical-device suite 833 passed, native font checks 4 passed, final network probes 4 failed at waitUntilRunning. Documentation JSON parses and diff whitespace checks pass. Production promotion remains open.
- Qualify the exact f535d6f / 363fdf0 candidate with 833 iPhone production tests and all four old/new Truffle pairings (eight tests).
- Record all 13 desktop landing gates, 498 Rust tests and current generated files against the restored frozen dependency graph.
- Preserve the full-workspace 1999 ms / 2000 ms failure and all six unchanged baseline/candidate timing controls; do not claim a green full verify.
- Retain checked SSD archives, runtime binary identities, reviewed images and cleanup evidence; keep latency and physical Windows UI unqualified and production pins unchanged.
