Previously, when the selection covered all of the content in a block and an inline format element wrapped that content, the xref:apis/tinymce.editor.adoc#insertContent[`+editor.insertContent()+`] API removed the formatting. For example, selecting all of the text in `+<p><strong>I am bold</strong></p>+` and inserting new text using the API produced plain text instead of bold.

In {productname} {release-version}, the `+editor.insertContent()+` API preserves the inline formatting that wraps the whole selection.
