The thermal exchanger has two internal tanks: An input and an output tank. Fluids can only be inserted into the internal input tank and can only be extracted from the internal output tank. You can only insert fluids using fluid pipes from the Create mod.
When the input tank contains a valid thermal fluid, the thermal exchanger will either heat up or cool down the environment temperature around itself depending on the thermal fluid in the input tank. It will then fill its output tank with a temperature-neutral version of the input fluid. This outputted fluid can then be recycled to be used again as an input.
Here is a list of all thermal fluids, their output fluids, and their temperature adjustment (default values, all values can be changed in the config):
| Thermal Fluid (Input) | Temperature-Neutral Fluid (Output) | Temperature adjustment |
|---|---|---|
| Frigid Compound | Warm Frigid Compound | COOL (-25) |
| Scorching Compound | Cold Scorching Compound | HEAT (+10) |
| Superheated Scorching Compound | Cold Scorching Compound | SUPERHEAT (+30) |
The following blocks from vanilla minecraft and create are integrated with Create: Thermantics:
- All Furnace Types (Smoker, Blast Furnace, Furnace): Will emit heat when active
- Lava: Will emit heat
- Water: Will cool down when player is in water
- Fire: Will emit heat
- Campfire: Will emit heat when active
- Torches: Will emit heat
- Blaze Burner: Will emit heat when active (will be hotter when burner is superheated)
- Fluid Tanks: Will emit heat / cold depending on content
