Release Notes

studiometa/playground (@studiometa/playground-preview)

v0.4.0

Compare Source

Changed
  • ⚠️ Migrate the front-end to @studiometa/js-toolkit v4 (^4.0.0-alpha.1, published on the next dist-tag). The shipped shell called createApp(), which v4 removed, so any consumer already on v4 got TypeError: createApp is not a function before the playground rendered anything. Registration is now registerComponent(Playground), and the page template declares data-component="Playground" on <body> so an instance exists because its element is in the document. Consumers must be on js-toolkit v4 (#79)
  • ⚠️ createPlayground() no longer returns an application object — v4 has none. It configures the playground and registers the root component (#79)
  • ⚠️ Coordination between the root component and the editors no longer relies on mount order. v4 gives no ordering guarantee between a parent and its children, so Playground watches EditorVisibility, Editors and Iframe with $watchChildren() and pushes the editor visibility onto every instance it sees, including the ones that mount after it. Resizable watches its ResizableSync children the same way, and reaches the nearest one from a cursor with $closest() (#79)
  • ⚠️ HtmlEditor, ScriptEditor and StyleEditor declare their own config.name. They used to inherit Editor's, which v4 would have registered under the wrong data-component token (#79)
  • Editing the script now rebuilds the preview's JavaScript realm. v4 registers a component class under its name once and ignores a second registration of the same name, so re-running an edited script in the same realm kept the author's first version of every class — the editor looked dead. The reload button resets the realm for the same reason (#79)
  • Editors dispose their Monaco instance and drop their theme subscription when they unmount, through the cleanup mounted() returns. v3 had no teardown at all (#79)
Fixed
  • Clear the is-resizing state from the drag service rather than from a pointerup bound to the handle. A pointer released away from the handle never delivered that event, so the class stayed and is-resizing:pointer-events-none left the preview iframe unclickable (#79)
  • Register the preview's import map once per document instead of once per rebuild, which reported one console warning per overlapping specifier (#79)
  • ResizableSync.set() writes to style.width / style.height rather than to non-existent width / height element properties, so a synchronised panel keeps its measured size (#79)

v0.3.14

Compare Source

Fixed
  • Write the virtual HTML/style/script loader modules at the package's resolved on-disk root, fixing Package path ./<name>-loader.js is exported from package ... but no valid target file was found on webpack 5.109+ (#77, d0c924a)
  • Load esbuild-wasm from esm.sh at runtime instead of bundling it, fixing the broken wasmURL that stopped the preview from running the compiled script on webpack 5.109+, and keeping the ~11 MB wasm out of consumer bundles (#78, 89b55ae)

v0.3.13

Compare Source

Fixed
  • Rewrite relative .js imports to .d.ts inside emitted declaration chunks of self-hosted dependencies. rolldown-plugin-dts writes cross-chunk type imports with a .js extension, but declaration chunks are content-hashed independently from the JS chunks, so ./Foo-<hash>.js never existed on disk (only ./Foo-<hash>.d.ts did) — the editor's LSP fetched the dead .js URL and type resolution broke for code-split subpaths

v0.3.12

Compare Source

Added
  • Auto-detect a dependency's export subpaths via the new subpaths option on DependencyConfig. For esm.sh dependencies, subpaths: true reads the package's package.json exports (disk node_modules first, npm registry fallback) and adds each subpath to the import map as its own esm.sh URL, while subpaths: ['./utils'] uses an explicit list. For local self-hosted dependencies, subpaths: true derives the multi-entry code-split entries from exports (each subpath maps to its .ts target), and is ignored when an explicit entries map is set (#75, 5c0c244)
  • Support multiple entry points for a single self-hosted dependency via the new entries map on DependencyConfig. All subpaths of a workspace package (e.g. a barrel . and a lazy ./manifest) are built together in one code-split tsdown build, so modules shared between entries are emitted once as a shared chunk and referenced by every entry — a single runtime instance, eliminating the singleton/identity hazard of bundling each subpath separately (#74)

v0.3.11

Compare Source

Fixed
  • Emit code-split self-hosted dependency chunks without filename collision — a dependency that uses a dynamic import() no longer aborts the webpack build with Conflict: Multiple assets emit different content to the same filename static/deps/<specifier>/index.js (#73, 39fbb2c)
postcss/autoprefixer (autoprefixer)

v10.6.2

Compare Source

  • Added /* autoprefixer: ignore next warning */ (by @dualfroz).
  • Fixed losing unprefixed selectors in old browsers in grouping (by @ybai08).

  • Fixed case-insensitive pseudo-selector prefixing (by @jakezwang).

v1.14.0

Compare Source

    🚀 Enhancements

Added support for the llms.txt v2 standard, making LLM-friendly documentation easier for agents to discover.

The plugin now automatically adds discovery links to each HTML page’s <head>:

<link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown" href="/guide/getting-started.md" />
<link rel="describedby" href="/llms.txt" />
  • alternate points to the page’s Markdown version
  • describedby points to llms.txt when generateLLMsTxt is enabled.

These standard links replace the previous hidden "Are you an LLM?" text on regular pages. The homepage hint remains controlled by injectLLMHint.

Added the ability to translate the "Copy / Download as Markdown" buttons via themeConfig, you can now localize these buttons like this:

.vitepress/config.ts:

export default defineConfig({
  locales: {
    root: {
      label: 'English',
      themeConfig: {
        llms: { copyText: 'Copy page', copiedText: 'Copied!' }
      }
    },
    fr: {
      label: 'Français',
      themeConfig: {
        llms: { copyText: 'Copier la page', copiedText: 'Copié !' }
      }
    }
  }
})

    🚀 Enhancements

You can now build a completely custom UI for the "Copy / Download as Markdown"
buttons without touching the bundled Vue component. 🥞

The new useCopyOrDownloadAsMarkdownButtons composable is exported directly
from vitepress-plugin-llms/vitepress-components and gives you full access to the underlying
reactive state and action handlers - copied, downloaded, copyAsMarkdown,
downloadMarkdown, viewAsMarkdown, openInAI, so you can wire them up to
any markup you want.

The list of AI providers is also now configurable via the aiProviders option,
and the default providers (ChatGPT and Claude) are exported separately as
defaultAiProviders so you can extend rather than replace them.

issue: Align playground preview with js-toolkit runtime

@studiometa/playground-preview@0.4.0 requires the js-toolkit v4 API, while this package still resolves @studiometa/js-toolkit to 3.9.0. The preview's v4 registration path is therefore incompatible with the docs runtime and can prevent playground components from rendering. Upgrade the js-toolkit dependency to the required v4 release, or keep the preview on a v0.3 version compatible with js-toolkit v3.

Confidence: high.

issue (blocking): Align js-toolkit with playground-preview 0.4

@studiometa/playground-preview 0.4.0 migrated to @studiometa/js-toolkit v4, but this package still pins @studiometa/js-toolkit to 3.9.0. The docs import and render the upgraded preview component, so this incompatible major-version combination can fail at runtime; update the toolkit dependency to the required v4 release or keep the preview package on the 0.3.x line.

Confidence: high.
