Version bump to 1.18.0 so the Release workflow can cut v1.18.0. Touches examples/sample-output.json, the example asset name in README.md, and CHANGELOG.md (new [1.18.0] - 2026-10-26 section + compare link). internal/buildinfo/version.go already reads 1.18.0 — #236 bumped it early and added a [1.18.0] - 2026-10-05 section with no tag behind it; that section is folded into this one and re-dated. Minor bump per VERSIONING.md — new detections.

Twenty-four PRs merged since v1.17.0. The [Unreleased] entries (#252, #238, #235, #240, #229) and the device-ID entry (#236) are kept as written. The rest is backfilled: runtime inventory and Windows system packages (#261), Go (#230), Cargo (#234), NuGet (#239) and Ruby (#258) inventories, the OS lock (#241), remote-mount skipping and the deadline fixes (#245), scheduler fixes incl. the systemd OnCalendar change (#242), on-disk file robustness (#244), stable device identity (#243, #249), legacy Windows device-policy state repair (#237), IDE settings validation (#231), Homebrew Pi/Copilot/Amp (#232), Copilot behind a rejected VS Code launcher (#257) and the glob fixes from #221. CI-only PRs (#248, #250, #260) are left out.

Verified go build ./..., --version prints 1.18.0, and the Makefile VERSION extraction resolves it.
