    ✅ Updates from last week

    • Maintainer quiz—still a bit of a slow journey, but I think it's shaping up to be a fun piece. (Bonus: learned which JS front-end frameworks/build tools to use along the way).
    • Alignment/matching-markets post—the substrate here is legit rich, and I think it could be REALLY good if I land it right.
    • Blog-theme work. I'm doing it!

    🕵️ Pull requests I reviewed

👩‍🎓 One thing I learned last week

    • Went deep on Ghost's theming system this week—how Handlebars templates drive the layout, how CSS loading order actually resolves, and the rest of the moving parts under the hood. Feels like I finally have a real mental model of the theme instead of just poking at it.

🔭 My plan for the current week

    • Ship the cosmo-quiz wrapper post (depending on other post scheduling—gotta get that sequencing right).
    • Learn enough OpenShot to be dangerous, ship to stdlib YouTube.
    • V8 blog for the week after—now that we've mentioned it in office hours, it's gotta happen.

🙏 Challenges that I've faced and things I'd like help with

    • A bit of a struggle bus figuring out my first Preact SPA vis-à-vis best practices, what goes where, and accessibility implementation was harder than I'd imagined. I'm guessing I should've started with accessibility in mind in the scaffolding, but am still not totally sure what that would have entailed…

🏝️ My availability for next week

    • I'll be around all week.

🙌 Thanks I'd like to give

    • @anandkaranubc for helping with PR cleanup, reviewing my PRs, and for our weekly 1:1 discussions on implementation details and future work.
    • @kgryte for reviewing my PRs and providing detailed feedback.

    ✅ Updates from last week

    • I worked on routine dlagts
    • Reviewed the feedback on my open PRs and refactored them accordingly.

    🕵️ Pull requests I reviewed

🧑🎓 One thing I learned last week

    • I learned better ways to refactor code and improve code quality from karan review feedback and our weekly discussions.

🔭 My plan for the current week

This week, my focus is on getting my existing PRs merged rather than starting new implementations. I’ll continue addressing review feedback, refactoring my open PRs as needed, and will post an update whenever a routine is ready for review and merge.

🙏 Challenges that I've faced and things I'd like help with

    none

🏝️ My availability for next week

    • I'll be available all week.

    ✅ Updates from last week

    • I worked on refactoring the rect, arc, area, and path marks, along with their encoding sets, encoding, and assertion modules.

    🕵️ Pull requests I reviewed

    • I reviewed and provided feedback on the following PRs:

      • None

🧑🎓 One thing I learned last week

    • I learned that marks shouldn’t define default values. Instead, defaults should be handled at runtime by the Vega engine.

🔭 My plan for the current week

    • I plan on working on finishing the remaining mark types, such as trail, text, and image.

🙏 Challenges that I've faced and things I'd like help with

    • Nothing for now.

🏝️ My availability for next week

    • I'll be available.

    💬 Important items for discussion
