Step 2d of dev-space/charts-and-content-in-code-plan.md: every published tool, directory, directory child page, and catalog now renders its words from content/*.mdx beside its route, rewritten in the current writing style. Titles, search text, and cards stay in the database and go out through the publisher after merge.

Pages

Family Pages Change
Tools 71 51 rewritten, 20 moved with their words unchanged (all KDP tools, KENP, print size, and five SaaS calculators)
Directories 14 Rewritten. /cli-apps, /self-host-apps, and /platform-fees words moved out of TSX and the database
Keyboard shortcut apps 218 Each has its own two-sentence intro
Platform fee categories 8 Own intro and a short guide with a worked example from the records
Catalogs 8 Rewritten. The domain catalog article moved from TSX to MDX

Out of scope: courses, site pages, unpublished pages (ad networks), and pagination.

Code

  • Catalogs and fee categories map content by slug in content/index.ts. A published slug with no entry is an error.
  • The keyboard shortcuts template, fee shell, catalog route, and shared hardware page take MDX instead of database Markdown.
  • check-mdx.mjs checks MDX at any depth under content/.
  • Record syncs (keyboard shortcuts, ad networks, hardware and Zigbee previews) only insert missing page rows and never overwrite titles, words, or search fields. The undocumented hardware --refresh is retired.

Facts corrected on live pages

  • Availability pages named result labels the tools don't show.
  • The transfer page called the 60-day rule a hard lock; registrars may refuse, not must.
  • Drive reliability named a toggle that doesn't exist.
  • The DNS lookup page said its DNSSEC line means validation; the tool never asks for that flag.
  • The TLD directory said no tool can look up an ending without RDAP.

Checks

  • npm run quality passes. check-mdx.mjs passes on all MDX files.
  • Sol reviewed the code: ready, two P3 findings fixed in bb4769fa and confirmed.
  • The 20 move-only tools match production text and search tags exactly.
  • Still to do before merge: browser checks at desktop and mobile in both themes, and the content audit fixes.

After merge

Production publisher batches for titles, search text, and cards: tools and catalogs through stack127:tools:publish, directories and child pages through stack127:directories:publish with touch_reason where content changed. They run only after approval.

Copy each page's live intro into content files beside its route. Catalogs
and fee categories map content by slug, and a published slug with no
entry is an error. Shortcut app routes pass their own intro to the
template, which renders the print link itself.

The first page of each tool family, written as if new. Titles and search
text go to development separately.

The KDP tools, the KENP and print size calculators, and four SaaS
calculators. Their visible text and search tags match production.

The MDX check covers every content folder depth. Shortcut and ad network
syncs only insert missing page rows, and generated shortcut routes pass
each app's own intro. Hardware and Zigbee previews no longer overwrite
search fields, and their undocumented --refresh is retired.

CAA, DNS change, DNSSEC, DNS trace, nameserver, and SOA checkers. Each
covers its own check and links to /dns-lookup for shared basics.

The live availability pages named result labels the tools don't show,
and the transfer page called the 60-day rule a hard lock. Both are fixed.

Each shared idea now has one home page: ARR meanings, MRR movements,
the churn and retention comparison, gross margin, and ARPA.

Cuts a toggle the drive reliability tool doesn't have, and says the
datasheet error rate is a maximum, not a measured rate.

Ten more pages, plus the chmod copy message that said "UiSelect".

The shared hardware page takes each route's intro and article. Each page
now says what its sources are, what a listing does and doesn't promise,
and why the exact model matters.

The hub says where the shortcuts come from and why one might not work.
Each app intro says what the app is and what its shortcuts cover.

Every published shortcut app page now has its own intro.

…in MDX

Terminal and self-host apps get their first guide sections. The TLD page
no longer says no tool can look up an ending without RDAP, and its counts
stay computed from the records.

…es in MDX

Each fee category gets its own intro and a short guide with a worked
example from the records. The hub title drops its hard-coded count.

Catalogs with tools for different problems get a table that matches a
problem to the right tool. The domain catalog article moves from TSX
into MDX.

The move to MDX dropped the page-scoped link override. The launch guide
is a labelled section again.

Trims claims that went past their sources, finishes the music cost
example, fixes the tmux intro, and explains every OSI value in the
license table key.

The directories publisher needs one for each directory whose records
live in the database. Self-host apps, terminal apps, and launch
directories had none it could use for a copy-only batch.

Also restores the terminal apps note that Archived follows GitHub data
between reviews, which the code does.
