Exercising the event.* capabilities is trivial, but asserting that these calls succeeded is not.
The metal-maintenance-operator relies on a ConfigMap configured via the telemetry-config-name-flag that contains a yaml-based configuration of how events are subscribed to, e.g.:
Testing against a physical iDRAC with non-virtualised BMC, I found that it refuses to push metrics to a plain HTTP endpoint. I'll extend the metal-lab to support a proxy in front of it.

BMCresources (owned by the metal-operator!) in the maintenance-operator. If some of the necessary calls fail(https://github.com/ironcore-dev/metal-maintenance-operator/blob/0cd8b31a719813cdca2f278dfbbcec2fd5ee1815/internal/telemetry/subscriptions/reconciler.go#L369), errors are not surfaced in any way. From the test-framework's perspective, to assert that these subscriptions happen, the test would need to call the BMC's Redfish API manually and confirm subscriptions.

I'm adding an implementation without the necessary verification I mentioned: #78

The verification is a work in progress tracked here: https://github.com/simontesar/metal-operator-test-framework/compare/test-13-event-subscriptions-verification?expand=1
