Summary
I'm not a UX designer, so feel free to ignore haha.
Whether or not there is an active fault, this button / link at the bottom as a yellow warning icon. Now for better or worse the CS guys at my company will interpret anything yellow or red as an issue. So it catches the eyes.
Next is: when there is an active fault, I get the pop up when it is, but otherwise there isn't a clear indication that there is something to look at, or where to look.
And finally, the fault dashboard is good, but it might be nice if you can click and jump to the component/app that has a fault, so you can look at logs and what not.
Anyway, scrutinizing the UI makes me feel icky, but hopefully that's useful for you guys.
Proposed solution (optional)
I'd say, have that icon beside the fault dashboard button be dynamic. Green, yellow, red, etc.
Additional context (optional)
Now for my use case, for the foreseeable future, the medkit ui would just be an "experimental" tool as we have our own UI that people are trained to use. So again this is just general feedback.
