Dependency Bump Evaluation
Version change: 10.0.1 -> 10.4.0 (minor, spanning 5 intermediate releases)
Breaking changes: None
Security concerns: None
Supply chain flags (resolved):
- New releaser (GitHub Actions): The project moved from manual npm publishing to CI-based releases via GitHub Actions — this is a standard, benign modernization.
- New
preparescript: Runsgit config core.hooksPath hooks || true, which only configures git hooks for contributors and silently no-ops when installed as a dependency (no.gitdirectory). No network calls, no code execution.
Changes across versions:
- v10.2.1-v10.3.1: No detailed changelogs (commit-only releases)
- v10.4.0: Added GitHub Actions CI, enforced Node 12 loadability, added byte array validation for Address6
Impact on codebase: ip-address is a transitive dependency (required by socks). Arsenal does not directly import or use ip-address. The codebase references ipAddress/IpAddress in its own code (routesUtils.ts, GcpService.js, conditions.ts), but these are Arsenal's own regex patterns and policy evaluator logic using the separate ipaddr.js package — completely unrelated. Only yarn.lock is modified (version resolution update).
Recommendation: SAFE TO MERGE
Notes: CI checks are still in progress — wait for all checks to pass before merging.
