Echo suppression evaluates candidates outside `pendingMu` and skips loading the state cache when no pre-fence events are pending, `EMFILE`/`ENFILE` watcher rebuilds release the prior watcher before retrying, and non-`ENOENT` file or directory read failures during targeted scans queue a bounded single retry while preserving cached children against spurious deletes.
