Anthony after 0.29.0: Reload made him pick the file's location ("why do i have to pick the location when you already know it?"); reading and writing straight to disk should be the default, with the local copy optional; and the tab × had disappeared.

  • Auto-save to disk, on by default (toolbar toggle, palette command). Edits to a file on disk are written to it 400 ms after you stop typing. Opening a file re-reads it from disk. A change synced from another device is written to the file, unless the file changed on disk in the meantime, in which case the disk wins and both versions go to History. Turning it off brings back the old way: edits stay in the local copy until Ctrl+S.
  • Reload finds the file itself. The bridge's find-opened(paths, search) searches only when Reload asks: first the paths the app remembers opening, then ~/Desktop, ~/Documents, ~/Downloads, ~, ~/src and ~/notes, then a walk of the home folder capped at 4 s, depth 6 and 50k folders. With several matches it takes the newest. The dialog only opens if nothing is found. The automatic re-link at launch still uses remembered paths only, so a note made in readm3 never gets tied to some other file with the same name.
  • × on every tab. It used to be hidden when only one tab was open. Closing the last tab opens another file.

Tests: a new spec for auto-save to disk, re-read on open, and the × on a single tab. The Ctrl+S spec now runs with auto-save off. 13 disk, desktop and tab specs pass when run one at a time, and the unit tests pass.

Version 0.30.0. desktop/package.json now matches; the build stamps readm3's version into the app anyway.

…n every tab

- Auto-save to disk (on by default, toggle in the toolbar and palette): an edit to a
file from disk is written to it as you type, a file is read from disk again when
opened, and a change synced from another device is written to the file unless the
file changed on disk meanwhile. Off is the old keep-a-copy-until-Ctrl+S way.
- Reload on a file with no disk link searches for it (remembered paths, then ~/Desktop,
~/Documents, ~/Downloads, ~, then a bounded walk of home, newest match) instead of
asking; the dialog is only the last resort. Launch re-linking still uses remembered
paths only, so a note made in readm3 is never tied to an unrelated file.
- The tab × shows even on a single tab; closing the last tab opens another file.
- desktop/package.json version follows readm3's (the build stamps it anyway).
