CI matrix doesn't test newly-GA Node.js 26

Problem

.github/workflows/ci.yml (line 26) sets matrix.node-version: [22.x, 24.x]. Node.js 26 was released 2026-05-05 and is currently in its "Current" release phase (e.g. v26.8.1, published 2026-08-26 — a stable, non-RC release). Per the official Node.js release schedule (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nodejs/Release/main/schedule.json), v26 becomes Active LTS on 2026-10-28. The project's existing pattern is to test the Maintenance LTS + Active LTS pair (22.x, which is Maintenance LTS since 2025-10-21 and EOL 2027-04-30; 24.x, Active LTS since 2025-10-28), but it doesn't yet exercise the upcoming 26.x release before that LTS transition lands in two months.

Acceptance criteria

• .github/workflows/ci.yml strategy.matrix.node-version includes 26.x (in addition to the existing 22.x, 24.x).
• CI passes on the new 26.x matrix leg (lint, format:check, typecheck, test jobs all green).
• No other matrix entries are changed.

Scope

Add 26.x to the Node version matrix in .github/workflows/ci.yml only. Do not touch the audit job's fixed node-version: 22.x, do not change @types/node's version range, and do not drop or otherwise modify the existing 22.x/24.x entries — those are still within support per the release schedule above.
