• Assertions (e.g. cuke::equal(), cuke::is_true()) called inside scenario hooks (BEFORE/AFTER) crashed with empty steps or corrupted executed step status; hook assertions now route to cuke::fail_scenario() and preserve executed step results (149)
• Literal parentheses () and curly braces {} in step text are not matched; escape them with \(, \), \{, \} to use them literally instead of as optional text or a parameter type (129)
• Scenario Outline doc strings containing angle-bracket text that is not an Examples column (e.g. XML/HTML tags) crashed with an uncaught exception; such placeholders are now left untouched instead (130)
• Data table cells are read as raw text: a " no longer opens a string value and a # no longer starts a comment inside a cell, so the closing | is no longer swallowed and the row is no longer mis-split; write \| for a pipe that belongs to the cell (144)
• A # starts a comment only as the first non blank character of a line, so a#b and issue #​7 stay text (144)
• An escaped \" no longer closes a string value, so the real closing quote is no longer read as the opening quote of a new, unterminated one (144)
• A feature file that does not parse crashed the runner with a SEGV in parser::for_each_scenario(), which dereferenced the document the parser had already cleared; such a file is now skipped and fails the run instead of being reported as a success (144)
