Graphical Resource Monitor

VS Code Extension

  • A lightweight system resource monitor extension for VS Code
  • Adds a window on the Explorer tab containing a continuously scrolling graph of resource usage
  • Shows CPU, RAM, GPU, and VRAM usage as a percentage of system total
  • Dynamically resizable
  • Configurable for different time-frames, sample rates, smoothing, and plot formatting

Note: Only tested on Windows 10 and Linux, with an Nvidia GPU and AMD CPU.

Configuration Options

Click the gear icon in the top-right of the monitor window, or search for "sysmon" in the settings: (more to be added) Settings

Simple Installation from ".vsix"

Installation

  1. Download the "graphicalresourcemonitor-#.#.#.vsix" file
  2. Navigate to the Extensions tab and select "Install from VSIX..."
  3. Select the .vsix file and click install
  4. Click "Restart Extensions", or manually restart VSCode

Manual Compilation

Assuming required dependencies are met (see documentation)

  1. Ensure "out" directory is empty
  2. Run npm run package from main directory
  3. Confirm "y" when asked to continue
  4. Compiled ".vsix" file should appear in main directory
