error "invalid utf-8 sequence" when loading xls and xlsm workbooks

Hi,

after a few months, I tried the current dev state of dv. While simple xlsx worksheets seem to be loaded and displayed smoothly and nicely, xls and xlsm worksheets throw the error:

Unhandled error. Try again with `-E` to ignore errors.

Even when trying to load with the argument -E, the same error shows and the workbooks are not loaded. In my opinion, dv should just load everything it can evaluate and skip those parts (like macros, cell-formatting, ...) it can't.

I don't recall this error when I tried dv earlier this year.

Any hints?
