Summary

  • Accelerate Linux procedural backdrops and image entrance effects with hardware Vulkan compute, retaining CPU fallback.
  • Cache GPU pipelines, buffers, and source pixels; warm entrance rendering on workers and report adapter diagnostics.
  • Add GLSL shader validation, opt-in hardware parity/cache/throughput tests, and Linux troubleshooting and QA documentation.

Validation

  • cargo fmt --check — passed.
  • cargo clippy --all-targets --locked -- -D warnings — passed.
  • cargo test --release --locked vulkan_ -- --include-ignored --nocapture — all 5 passed on AMD Radeon 8060S (RADV STRIX_HALO), including CPU parity and cache refresh checks.
  • cargo test --locked — 156 passed, 21 ignored, 2 failed because the platform annotation font is unavailable (text_exports_preserve_glyph_overhangs and exported_text_uses_an_available_platform_font).
  • macOS and manual desktop validation not run.
