Windows users currently have no WinGet installation or upgrade path. Add Markra.Markra for the existing Windows x64 NSIS installer, with bootstrap manifests for v2.13.0 and automatic submissions after published stable releases.

  • Generate the three manifests from the exact setup EXE, its SHA-256, and the released Tauri metadata. Exclude MSI, portable builds, prereleases, and ambiguous assets.
  • Reuse a Windows workflow for PR validation, manual dry runs/retries, and release submissions. Validate with WinGet, check bootstrap reproducibility, and test silent install/uninstall and registered metadata.
  • Submit the initial package, then use WinGetCreate updates to preserve reviewed upstream metadata. Skip merged versions and existing open PRs; keep credentials scoped to read-only token verification and submission steps.
  • Run release-tool tests in CI and document bootstrap, token setup, recovery, and catalog verification.

Validation

  • pnpm test:release: 61 tests passed, including 9 new tests using synthetic installers.
  • actionlint: all workflows passed.
  • All three bootstrap manifests passed Microsoft's official v1.10.0 JSON schemas.
  • The bootstrap SHA-256 matches the downloaded v2.13.0 release setup EXE.
  • Windows CI: WinGet validation, bootstrap reproducibility, silent install/uninstall, registered metadata checks, and manifest artifact upload passed.
  • Linux Release Tools CI passed.
  • Manual dry run: configured token authentication and classic PAT scope checks passed, followed by Windows validation and silent install/uninstall; upstream submission was disabled.

Rollout

WINGET_CREATE_GITHUB_TOKEN is configured and its authentication and required access passed the manual dry run. After merging this PR, run the WinGet workflow with tag_name: v2.13.0 and submit: true for the first upstream submission. Without the secret, manifests are still validated and uploaded, and submission emits a warning. WinGet catalog availability requires Microsoft's PR checks and merge.

Existing-installation upgrade scenarios and editor UI launch remain manual checks, described in docs/winget.md.
