Nest framework TypeScript starter repository with Prisma ORM and JWT authentication.

Environment Setup

Before running the project, you need to configure environment variables:

1. Copy .env.example to .env:

$ cp .env.example .env

2. Generate a secure JWT secret (in production):

$ openssl rand -base64 32
# Or using Node.js:
$ node -e "console.log(require('crypto').randomBytes(32).toString('base64'))"

3. Update .env with your values:

JWT_SECRET=<your-generated-secret>
DATABASE_URL=<your-database-url>

Important: Never use the default JWT_SECRET=trocar-em-producao in production. The application will fail to start if JWT_SECRET is missing or using the default unsafe value.

Project setup

$ npm install

Compile and run the project

# development
$ npm run start

# watch mode
$ npm run start:dev

# production mode
$ npm run start:prod

# debug mode
$ npm run start:debug

Run tests

# unit tests
$ npm run test

# watch mode
$ npm run test:watch

# e2e tests
$ npm run test:e2e

# test coverage
$ npm run test:cov
