Some hierarchies (ie 7,8,9 and 13) do not have the table FT, and therefore, we don’t have the information about the sampling Type (at-sea” or “on-shore”).
It could be possible to assign a type of sampling at-sea/on-shore manually, depending on the hierarchy. But according to te documentation, H7 & and H8 are "most used for on-shore sampling, but can be used for at-sea sampling as well”, and H13 is "most used for at-sea sampling, but can be used for on-shore sampling as well". So this manual assignation may not be so straigth forward
Can you provide an example and explain exactly in what case this is needed. It is when you read other countries data from H7, H8, H9 and H13 and would need to know if the sampling is at-sea/on-shore?
Hi,
yes, the issue was raised at the ISSG Overviews, when compiling the data for all countries in the RCG area. We were asked to provide an overview of the sampling on board, by country, metier and area. And we realized that for some hierarchies it was not so straight forward to know whether the samplig was done at-sea or on-shore.
