This program was written in Java 11 by Sarah Jane Gregory and Saachi Bhatia, completed on February 20, 2025. It implements the Tester library and Javalib library for images from Khoury College of Computer Sciences.
This is a class project from CS2510 Fundamentals of Computer Science II, designed to imitate the online typing game "ZType". This project was completed roughly halfway through the semester and was intended as practice for the concepts we had learned up to that point, focusing on dynamic dispatch and recursion.
How to play the game:
Once the game starts, words will begin appearing at the top of the screen. Start typing the word in blue, and the letters will disappear when you type them correctly. Type the entire word before it hits the bottom of the screen, if you cannot type it in time, you lose. The game continues infinitely until you lose, with randomly generated words appearing every few seconds. (The generated words are strings of random letters with lengths ranging from 6 to 10.)
How to run the program:
Download the ZIP file and the attached JAR files. Open the project folder from the ZIP file in your IDE and add the two external JAR files to the Classpath. When choosing the run configurations, select "tester.Main" as the main class and "ExamplesGame" as the program arguments. Once you run the project with these configurations, the game should start in a new window.
