Closes #22.

Summary

  • Native CI jobs. android (ubuntu, JDK 17) prebuilds the example and runs :gmisoftware_react-native-pay:assembleDebug and testDebugUnitTest for one ABI (x86_64). ios (macos-26) prebuilds the example and runs xcodebuild test on the new NitroPay-Unit-Tests scheme, which compiles NitroPay and runs its XCTests.
  • Native unit tests. New PaymentMapperTest (JUnit), next to the existing GooglePayRequestBuilderTest. New Tests test spec in NitroPay.podspec with PaymentRequestBuilderTests, PassKitTypeMapperTests and PaymentAmountDecimalTests under package/ios/Tests. PaymentRequestBuilder is now internal instead of private. The example links the test spec through expo-build-properties (ios.extraPods), so a local expo prebuild creates the scheme too.
  • Codegen and package checks. quality reruns bun run specs and fails if anything under nitrogen/ changes. A new package job runs bun run check:pack: the tarball must contain lib/index.js, lib/index.d.ts and lib/plugin/index.js, and no tests or install scripts. The job then installs the tarball into a scratch app, which must stay unchanged (The published postinstall runs tsc against the consumer's project #9).
  • Build and lint config. lib/ is built with tsconfig.build.json, which excludes __tests__. files excludes __tests__ and ios/Tests, so the tarball drops 21 test files (254 → 233). composite is removed, so a leftover tsbuildinfo can't make tsc a no-op; declaration is now set explicitly, since composite implied it. lint runs with --max-warnings 0 and without --fix (lint:fix fixes). lint-ci is removed. Bun is pinned to 1.3.14 in both workflows, and CI installs with --frozen-lockfile.

Test plan

All run locally (macOS, Xcode 27.1, JDK 17, Bun 1.3.14):

  • cd package && bun run lint: 0 warnings
  • cd package && bun run typecheck: passes
  • cd package && bun run test:ci: 89/89
  • cd package && bun run check:pack: 233 files, OK, with npm 11.17 and with npm 10.9.9 (the ubuntu runner's version). With lib/ deleted first, it rebuilds lib/ and passes.
  • bun run specs: no diff under nitrogen/
  • bun install --frozen-lockfile: passes
  • Android, from example/android after expo prebuild --platform android: ./gradlew :gmisoftware_react-native-pay:assembleDebug :gmisoftware_react-native-pay:testDebugUnitTest -PreactNativeArchitectures=x86_64: builds; 34/34 JUnit (GooglePayRequestBuilderTest 16, PaymentMapperTest 8 new, PendingPaymentTest 6, PaymentAmountsTest 4)
  • iOS, after expo prebuild --platform ios --clean with an empty DerivedData: xcodebuild test -scheme NitroPay-Unit-Tests: 18/18 XCTests (PaymentRequestBuilderTests 9, PassKitTypeMapperTests 6, PaymentAmountDecimalTests 3) in about 2 minutes. No warnings in package/ios. The build log shows the test files compiled only into NitroPay-Unit-Tests.
  • actionlint on both workflows: passes

Each failure mode from the acceptance criteria, injected locally and run with the CI job's command:

Injected change Result
Prettier violation in a new src/ file bun run lint exits 1 ("too many warnings, maximum: 0")
Field added to PaymentResult without regenerating Drift step exits 1 and lists 8 stale files under nitrogen/generated
Typo in PaymentMapper.kt compileDebugKotlin FAILED
Typo in PaymentAmount+Decimal.swift xcodebuild test exits 65
!**/__tests__ removed from files check:pack exits 1 and flags the test files

#9 reproduction (the package job's install step): the current tarball leaves the scratch app unchanged. The published 0.0.17 fails with npm 10, where its postinstall writes index.js into the app. It also fails with npm 11, which rejects it with ESTRICTALLOWSCRIPTS.

I did not open throwaway PRs to turn CI red per failure mode. I can if you want that as well.

Risk

  • First runs on the hosted runners. Local runs used Xcode 27.1; macos-26 defaults to Xcode 26.6. The Android job relies on the ubuntu image's SDK and on AGP downloading the NDK if it's missing. Expect the first runs to need small fixes.
  • Swift/C++ interop workaround. PassKitTypeMapperTests calls PassKitTypeMapper.convert(_: PKPaymentNetwork) through a helper whose signature names PaymentNetwork. Without it, Swift doesn't see that overload, because the C++ enum isn't imported yet when the overload is looked up. It held on a cold build locally; a different Swift version could behave differently.
  • Lint no longer fixes. Contributors with unformatted code now get a red lint until they run bun run lint:fix.
  • Package contents. The tarball no longer ships src/**/__tests__ or lib/**/__tests__. Nothing imports them.
  • CI time. Two new native jobs. The iOS job (prebuild with pod install, then a NitroPay-only build) took about 2 minutes to build and test locally after prebuild. The Android job builds C++ for one ABI.

- Build lib/ with tsconfig.build.json, which excludes __tests__, and
exclude __tests__ from the published files.
- Drop composite, so tsc no longer keeps a tsbuildinfo that turns the
next build into a no-op once lib/ is deleted. Keep declaration on,
  which composite implied.
- Add check:pack, which asserts the tarball has lib/ entry points, no
test files and no install scripts.
- lint now fails on warnings instead of fixing them; lint:fix fixes.
Drop lint-ci, whose formatter was never installed.
Parses Google Pay PaymentData into a result, maps card networks
(including the Visa fallback tracked in #13) and applies the merchant's
onAuthorize outcome.
- NitroPay.podspec gets a Tests test spec (package/ios/Tests), excluded
from the library sources and from the npm package.
- PaymentRequestBuilder is internal instead of private so the tests can
  call it.
- Tests cover PaymentRequestBuilder, PassKitTypeMapper and the exact
  decimal conversion of PaymentAmount.
- The example links the test spec through expo-build-properties, so
expo prebuild creates the NitroPay-Unit-Tests scheme.
The Android test reports under android/build contain JavaScript, which
failed lint with 185 warnings after a local Gradle run.
- android: prebuild the example, assembleDebug and run the JUnit tests.
- ios: prebuild the example and run the NitroPay XCTests, which also
  compiles the library.
- quality: fail when nitrogen output differs from the committed code.
- package: check the npm pack contents and install the tarball into a
scratch app, which must stay unchanged (#9).
- Pin Bun to 1.3.14 and install with --frozen-lockfile.

Changes: Package and Native Validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Package build and contents
package/package.json, package/tsconfig.json, package/tsconfig.build.json, package/scripts/check-pack.js, package.json, CHANGELOG.md, AGENTS.md
Package scripts use a build-specific TypeScript configuration that excludes source tests. Package exclusions omit test paths, and check:pack validates required files, excluded paths, and install scripts. The changelog and workflow guidance document the package and lint updates.
Native test targets and cases
package/NitroPay.podspec, package/ios/HybridPaymentHandler.swift, package/android/src/test/..., package/ios/Tests/*, example/app.json, example/package.json
The podspec defines an iOS Tests test spec, and PaymentRequestBuilder is available to the tests. Android and iOS tests cover payment mapping, PassKit conversions, decimal amounts, and payment request construction. The example config enables the iOS test spec.
CI validation jobs
.github/workflows/ci.yml, .github/workflows/docs.yml, AGENTS.md
CI pins Bun, uses frozen-lockfile installs, checks generated Nitro output and package installation, and builds and tests Android and iOS projects. The docs workflow pins Bun, and the PR checklist includes native unit tests.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The reviewed changes stay connected to issue #22. The workflow edits, native test targets, package validation, TypeScript build configuration, lint configuration, Bun pin, example test-spec wiring, changelog, and contributor documentation support the requested CI, test, build, or package behavior. No unrelated implementation change is demonstrated.

Full details: Security Check

Explanation

No medium, high, or critical vulnerability is evident in the reviewed changes. The PR adds CI checks, tests, package filtering, and a pinned development dependency; it does not add authentication paths, network request handling, secret logging, unsafe deserialization, or other attacker-controlled sinks. The newly reported co-located-test packaging gap is a package completeness issue, not a security vulnerability under this check.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #22 requires CI coverage for native compilation and tests, nitrogen drift, package contents, installation behavior, strict linting, pinned Bun, and stale TypeScript build-state prevention. The reported workflow and test changes cover these items. The Android and iOS jobs run tests for each required builder and mapper, and the reported failure injections cover Kotlin, Swift, lint, nitrogen, and package-test failures. However, #22 also lists the #10 docs-snippet type-check in its required CI job set. The PR explicitly omits that check because the snippets currently fail. The absence is therefore a concrete unmet coding requirement. The requested throwaway PRs are validation procedure, not a coding requirement.

Resolution

Add the #10 docs-snippet type-check to the CI workflow and make the check pass. Until that check is implemented, #22 is not complete.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 3.03% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 33 functions across 6 files. (11 skipped: 11 unsupported.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Compare scratch-app file contents, not only path names.

list compares only top-level names. An overwrite of existing index.ts or tsconfig.json would therefore produce identical snapshots and pass. Keep the path check, and add a content snapshot that excludes node_modules, package.json, and package-lock.json, which npm is expected to update.

Exclude co-located test files from the package.

If a contributor adds src/amount.test.ts, !**/__tests__ does not exclude it. tsconfig.build.json also compiles it, and check-pack.js does not reject either the source test or its compiled output. The test can therefore ship while check:pack passes. Exclude test filename patterns in the build and package rules, and reject them in check-pack.js. (docs.npmjs.com)
