Summary

Merging #4 triggered Auto Release (squash-merge commit started with feat:), which failed at the "Upgrade npm for OIDC" step: npm install -g npm@latest now requires Node ^22.22.2 || ^24.15.0 || >=26.0.0, and the workflow pins Node 20. No broken publish happened — it failed before the publish step, npm still shows 3.0.3 — but release automation is broken for any future feat:/fix: merge until this lands.

Bumped NODE_VERSION to 22, which ci.yml's own test matrix already exercises.

Test plan

  • YAML parses correctly
  • Will confirm end-to-end on the next real feat/fix merge (can't safely dry-run an actual npm publish step)
