Description

Adds VoiceJournal to the Android Tools section.

VoiceJournal is a privacy-first, voice-preferred note-taking application for Android built around local, on-device transcription.

Key Features & Highlights:

  • Voice-Preferred Note Taking: Combines rich-text note taking with multi-track audio reflections, interactive waveform visualization, and background playback controls.
  • Local On-Device Whisper Transcription: Offline speech-to-text powered by embedded whisper.cpp running natively via JNI with ARM NEON acceleration. No third-party servers, cloud dependencies, or external API keys required.
  • Bilingual Transcription: Optimized out-of-the-box for English and Hindi/Urdu speech reflections.
  • Zero Trackers & Telemetry: Completely tracker-free (clean Exodus audit), zero analytics, zero crash reporters, no ads, and no user accounts or logins.
  • Data Sovereignty & Security: All notes and recordings remain strictly in the local application sandbox. Includes hardware-backed Android Keystore PIN lock, biometric authentication, and atomic lossless ZIP backup export/import with Zip-Slip protection.
  • Distribution & Compatibility: Compatible with Android 10+ (API 29+), modern Material Design 3 interface, and signed release APKs (~14 MB) distributed directly via GitHub Releases.
