Application Error screen: "are too far apart with stepSize of 1 second" (Windows 11) #764
This report was written by Claude (model: Claude Sonnet 5.5, claude-sonnet-5-5, by Anthropic) on behalf of the user, from the user's screenshot of the error.
Bug description
The Docker Desktop window suddenly replaced its normal UI with a full-screen "Application Error" page ("We've reported this to our error tracker") showing this message:
1792029385091 and 1792492362467 are too far apart with stepSize of 1 second
The two numbers look like millisecond timestamps about 5.3 days apart, which suggests a chart or time-range component is being asked to draw a 1-second step across a multi-day range. The containers kept running normally in the background (verified from the command line), so this looks like a UI-only crash.
Expected: the UI keeps working, or the chart falls back to a larger step size.
Reproduction steps
Not known exactly. The user had Docker Desktop open for several days with 4 containers running (Postgres, n8n, pgweb and a Chromium browser container) under heavy load, and the screen appeared without any specific action.
Environment
OS: Windows 11 Pro (10.0.26300)
Docker Desktop version: not captured (user can add it)
Additional info
Containers were unaffected. Closing and reopening the Docker Desktop window should clear it.
Platform
