Summary

Enable the rendezvous server to relay WebRTC signaling so peers can establish
WebRTC connections (direct or TURN-relayed) through hbbs.

Changes

  • Align hbb_common submodule with the rustdesk client
    (rustdesk/hbb_common@229b904), switching the submodule URL from
    databk/hbb_common to rustdesk/hbb_common. This brings in the WebRTC
    proto fields (webrtc_sdp_offer, webrtc_sdp_answer, IceCandidate).
  • punch_hole.rs: forward webrtc_sdp_offer in PunchHole and
    webrtc_sdp_answer in PunchHoleResponse, so the SDP offer/answer
    exchange traverses the rendezvous server.
  • tcp_handler.rs: handle IceCandidate messages by forwarding them
    to the peer identified by socket_addr (B→A) or id (A→B), with
    routing fields stripped so neither peer learns the other's address.

How it works

  1. A sends PunchHoleRequest with webrtc_sdp_offer → server forwards
    PunchHole with the offer to B.
  2. B sends PunchHoleSent with webrtc_sdp_answer → server forwards
    PunchHoleResponse with the answer to A.
  3. Both peers send IceCandidate messages over TCP → server forwards
    them to the other peer (via WS/TCP sink or UDP).
  4. In the relay path, RelayResponse.webrtc_sdp_answer was already
    passed through unchanged.

Build and tests are left to CI.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved peer-to-peer connection setup by forwarding connection offers and answers between peers.
    • Improved ICE candidate delivery, including routing candidates to the appropriate peer when address information is available.

Align the hbb_common submodule with the rustdesk client (rustdesk/hbb_common
@229b904) so the WebRTC proto fields are available, then wire up the
rendezvous server to relay them:

- PunchHoleRequest.webrtc_sdp_offer → PunchHole.webrtc_sdp_offer
- PunchHoleSent.webrtc_sdp_answer → PunchHoleResponse.webrtc_sdp_answer
- IceCandidate messages are forwarded to the peer identified by
  socket_addr (B→A) or id (A→B), with routing fields stripped

The change updates the hbb_common submodule reference and adds forwarding for SDP offers, SDP answers, and ICE candidates in the rendezvous server.

Changes

WebRTC signaling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Update common submodule reference
.gitmodules, libs/hbb_common
The hbb_common submodule URL changed to the rustdesk repository, and its commit reference changed.
Forward SDP offer and answer
src/rendezvous_server/punch_hole.rs
The punch-hole request now relays the SDP offer. The punch-hole response now forwards the SDP answer.
Route ICE candidates
src/rendezvous_server/tcp_handler.rs
handle_tcp dispatches IceCandidate messages to a new handler. The handler resolves the target from socket_addr or peer id, then forwards the session key and candidate through an available sink or the transmit channel.

Banned peers can still receive ICE candidates. Apply the target ban policy to both routing paths before merging, or explicitly accept this bounded risk.

Comment @coderabbitai help to get the list of available commands.

The hbb_common submodule was aligned with the rustdesk client
(229b904), bringing in new dependencies (webrtc, etc.). The
Cargo.lock was not regenerated, causing all CI jobs using
--locked to fail.

Apply target ban checks to both IceCandidate routes.

Bans::contains blocks either a device ID or a normalized IP. Add the IceCandidate ID to the existing target check, and check the resolved target IP before forwarding. The ID-only change does not cover candidates routed by socket_addr.

🐛 Suggested fix
                 Some(rendezvous_message::Union::LocalAddr(v)) => v.id.as_str(),
                 Some(rendezvous_message::Union::RelayResponse(v)) => v.id(),
+                Some(rendezvous_message::Union::IceCandidate(v)) => v.id.as_str(),
                 _ => "",

After target_addr is resolved in handle_ice_candidate:

         let Some(target_addr) = target_addr else {
             return;
         };
+        let target_ip = try_into_v4(target_addr).ip().to_string();
+        if crate::management::is_banned("", &target_ip) {
+            return;
+        }

The available code does not establish a sender-session validation requirement, so do not add one here.

Remove unused imports, suppress dead code with #[allow(dead_code)],
fix unnecessary mut and unused variables. No behavioral changes.
Add IceCandidate ID to the target-id ban check in handle_tcp, and
check the resolved target IP in handle_ice_candidate before forwarding.
This closes a gap where a banned peer could still exchange WebRTC ICE
candidates through the rendezvous server.
