fix(dashboard): use dashboard.view permission, add device name search and CSV export - #357
Conversation
…only access The dashboard was restricted to super administrators because the old dashboard displayed sensitive connection logs. After the dashboard refactor the content was streamlined to overview statistics only, but the frontend route access was never updated. Replace 'canAdmin' with 'canDashboardView' (backed by the new 'dashboard.view' permission) so that roles with this permission can access the dashboard. Also add device name search support to the device list (the backend already supports the device_name query parameter) and add a CSV export button that downloads all filtered devices as a CSV file. Closes #415

📝 Walkthrough
Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to Dashboard access now follows the dashboard.view permission, and the device list adds name search and CSV export. Before merging, fix four issues: an outdated authorization test will fail, an export can request pages without end when a page returns no rows, exported device text can run as spreadsheet formulas, and non-admin users with dashboard access are not sent to the dashboard after login. 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Update the dashboard route contract test.
src/pages/strategy/authorizationContracts.test.ts still expects /dashboard to use canAdmin. This route now uses canDashboardView, so the assertion fails when the test runs. Update the expected value to canDashboardView.

Align the login destination with canDashboardView.
src/pages/user/login/utils.ts still allows /dashboard as a default destination only when access.isSuperAdmin is true. A non-admin with dashboard.view gets canDashboardView but is excluded from that destination. Use access.canDashboardView so the new permission also works for post-login navigation.

Stop the export when a page makes no progress.
If /api/devices returns an empty page while total exceeds the accumulated row count, hasMore stays true. The handler then requests successive pages without ending or clearing the loading state. Detect an empty page before continuing. Report an incomplete export as a failure rather than downloading a partial CSV.

Neutralize spreadsheet formulas in exported fields.
Device names, usernames, and notes can supply CSV cell text. A value starting with =, +, -, or @ remains executable as a formula when the CSV opens in a spreadsheet. Neutralize formula-leading and control-character-leading text before CSV encoding. Include CR in the quoting check so it cannot split a row. Based on learnings, untrusted spreadsheet cells require formula neutralization as well as CSV escaping.

- Update authorizationContracts test to expect canDashboardView for /dashboard route instead of the old canAdmin - Align post-login navigation with canDashboardView so non-admin users with dashboard.view permission are redirected to the dashboard - Guard CSV export against empty-page infinite loop by breaking when a page returns no rows - Neutralize CSV formula injection by prefixing values starting with =, +, -, or @ with a single quote, and include CR in the quoting check - Add test verifying non-admin users with dashboard.view are sent to the dashboard after login

Issue #415 reported three problems:
Dashboard permission bug — The dashboard was restricted to super administrators because the old dashboard displayed sensitive connection logs. After the dashboard refactor the content was streamlined to overview statistics only, but the frontend route access was never updated. This PR aligns the frontend with the backend
dashboard.viewpermission introduced in the companion backend PR.Device name search — The device list supported searching by ID, Group, User, Status, and OS, but not by Device name. The backend already supported the
device_namequery parameter; only the frontend needed updating.CSV export — The user requested the ability to export the filtered device list as a basic CSV file. This PR adds an "Export CSV" button that fetches all matching devices (paginated) and downloads them as a CSV file.
