ubuntu-latest is moving to ubuntu-26.04 (kernel 7.0.0-1017-azure), where mongod from mongo:8 refuses to start on Ubuntu's 7.0.0 kernels (SERVER-136848). lint-test fails on #69 in "Deploy test dependencies": MongoDB never becomes ready and
rollout statustimes out after 180s, before the chart is installed. It fails on any PR that changes the chart once its job runs on Ubuntu 26.04.ubuntu-latestis moving to Ubuntu 26.04 before November (actions/runner-images#14748). #69's job ran onubuntu-26.04with kernel7.0.0-1017-azure. mongod refuses to start on kernel 6.19 and newer; it exempts upstream 7.0.14 and newer, but the check ignores Ubuntu's patch level, so Ubuntu's7.0.0kernels stay blocked (SERVER-136848, SERVER-131155). #66 passed on 10-22 onubuntu-24.04(kernel6.17.0-1022-azure).This pins the lint-test job to
ubuntu-24.04. Pinning themongo:8image instead wouldn't help: the check is in 8.0 and later too. The other workflows don't run MongoDB and stay onubuntu-latest.Testing
dependencies.yamlrolls MongoDB out, but on Docker Desktop's7.0.14-linuxkitkernel, which is exempt, so it can't reproduce the failure.
