Why

An environment that mirrors a registry (obin-staging since its contract carries registry.mirrors) builds on a dedicated Buildx builder, and core verifies every agent's BuildCapabilities before dispatching a build to it (core 2b1406f2, 2026-09-11). This agent never implemented the RPC, so the render of every module composing it refused:

cannot verify builder agent support for requested Buildx builder "codefly-72a6…" before execution; upgrade the agent: rpc error: code = Unimplemented desc = method BuildCapabilities not implemented

What

BuildCapabilities answers BuildxSelection: true: the agent executes no docker build of its own — its Build hands the CLI a recipe or no image — so the selection is honoured by the CLI that runs every recipe on the builder it selected.

Test: TestBuildCapabilitiesHonourASelectedBuilder.

… honoured, so a render that mirrors a registry no longer fails on this agent

An environment that mirrors a registry builds on a dedicated Buildx builder and core verifies every agent's BuildCapabilities before dispatching a build to it (core 2b1406f2). This agent never implemented the RPC, so the first mirrored render refused with "method BuildCapabilities not implemented" and the whole module render failed. The agent executes no docker build of its own, so a selected builder is always honoured by the CLI that runs its recipes.
