npm 10 clean dependency installs hit Cannot read properties of null (reading 'edgesOut') while resolving the newer Vitest peer graph. Clean-install reproduction failed with the floating Vitest range and succeeded with Vitest 4.0.16 plus an explicit compatible Vite 7 dependency.

Use Utoo with the default setup-utoo inputs for CI dependency installation and lint/build/test commands, retaining the Node.js 22/24 matrix and existing ESLint rules. Pin Vitest to 4.0.16 and declare Vite 7 so npm-based preview installers also resolve the test tooling correctly. Update the local CI script and development commands to match. This PR is independent of the recruitment-banner cleanup in #131.

Validation:

  • npm 10.9.9 clean dependency installation passed with the fixed dependency graph.
  • Utoo dependency installation passed.
  • Lint and production build passed locally.
  • All 53 tests passed using Vitest 4.0.16.
  • Workflow YAML and Node.js matrix checked.
  • GitHub CI passed on Node.js 22 and 24.
  • Cloudflare Pages preview deployment passed.
  • Vercel preview deployment passed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Chores
    • Automated checks now run linting, production builds, and tests on Node.js 22 and 24.
  • Documentation
    • Updated development setup instructions with supported Node.js versions and commands for installing dependencies, starting the app, and running CI checks.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The CI workflow runs explicit Ubuntu jobs for Node.js 22 and 24. The package script and development guide use Utoo commands for CI and local development. The package adds Vite as a development dependency and pins Vitest to version 4.0.16.

Changes

Utoo-based CI setup

Layer / File(s) Summary
Utoo command contract
package.json, README.md
The ci script runs lint, build, and test through ut run. The development guide specifies Node.js and Utoo requirements and documents Utoo commands for installation, development, and CI. The package adds Vite as a development dependency and pins Vitest to version 4.0.16.
Node.js CI matrix
.github/workflows/nodejs.yml
The workflow runs on Ubuntu with Node.js 22 and 24. It checks out the repository, sets up the selected Node.js version, installs dependencies with ut install, and runs lint, build, and test through ut run. Matrix failures do not fail fast, and matching in-progress runs are canceled.

Set persist-credentials: false on checkout.

The actions/checkout step stores the GITHUB_TOKEN in the local git config by default. No later step needs to push to the repository. The lint, build, and test steps run project scripts and dependency code, and that code can read the token. Disable credential persistence to reduce this exposure. zizmor reports this as artipacked.
