feat(attach): post the host's comment after the evidence reaches a ready PR - #13
CodeRabbit can't be relied on to reread a pull request's description when it's edited. So when attach adds evidence to a ready PR, the device evidence check keeps its old result until someone asks it to look again. Since Oct 28, reviews that failed only on pre-merge checks blocked 17 PRs across clerk-ios and clerk-android, 30 times in all.
A host can now set commentAfterEvidence, and attach posts it once the tables are written. The harness doesn't name CodeRabbit, so each repo decides.
What to focus on
When it stays quiet: on a draft, which is reviewed when it turns ready, when the description already holds this evidence, and for a host that doesn't set the comment.
A comment that can't be posted is reported in the output and doesn't fail attach, because the evidence is already in the description by then.
Testing
npm test (754 pass) and npm run typecheck. New tests cover posting on a ready PR, staying quiet in the three cases above, a failed comment, and the printed output. They use the fake gh.
Not run against real GitHub yet, because no host sets the comment until it pins this commit.
Risk
Low. Nothing changes until a host sets commentAfterEvidence. Once one does, a ready PR gets one extra comment per attach that changes the description.
It doesn't cover the remote path. A remote session's evidence is published by each repo's verify-attach workflow, which doesn't go through this code. The docs don't say whether CodeRabbit obeys a command from that workflow's token, so that needs its own test.
How to revert
A plain revert is enough, once any host that sets commentAfterEvidence has dropped it.
Next
After this merges, clerk-ios and clerk-android bump their pin and set the comment. Expo stays as it is, because its CodeRabbit config has no device evidence check.
…ady PR
CodeRabbit doesn't reread an edited description, so its device evidence check
kept failing after attach until someone asked it to look again. A host can now
set commentAfterEvidence, and attach posts it once the tables are written. It
skips drafts, which get reviewed when they turn ready, and a repeated attach
that changed nothing. A comment that fails is reported and doesn't fail attach.

The GitHub attach flow now supports an optional host-configured comment after evidence updates. It skips the comment for draft pull requests and returns the comment body with its success or failure status when posting is attempted. The CLI reports that status and provides the body for manual posting if the comment fails. Tests cover posting conditions, repeated attaches, and output.
A PR changing draft status during attachment can receive or miss a comment unexpectedly. The change is otherwise mergeable with awareness of this narrow race.

Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description explains the reason for the change: CodeRabbit does not reread a PR description after evidence edits, so the device evidence check keeps its old result. It describes the new host option commentAfterEvidence, the quiet cases (drafts, existing evidence, unset option), the non-failing comment error handling, the tests run, the remote-path exclusion, and the revert steps. This matches the changeset in cli.ts, publish.ts, types.ts, and the evidence tests, so the check passes.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
Docstring coverage is 16.67% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 6 functions across 4 files.
Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
