Adds a
dryRuncheckbox, defaulting to false, to the Prepare releaseworkflow_dispatchform, mirroring chhoumann/PodNotes#519. It forwards to the shared workflow'sdry-runinput, which skips theopen-prjob. A manual run then plans the version and notes without opening, refreshing or closing a release PR. Before this, a dry run meant uncommenting a line in the stub. The automatic
workflow_runpath has noinputs, so it passes false and behaves as before. The shared workflow stays pinned to149e37801b35c120660a1fd5e78a5471fda55726 # v4.1.0.Verification
Prepare release dispatched from this branch with
dryRun: true. The run link is in a comment below.Release impact
None. The standing release PR is untouched and no release is cut.
Note
Low Risk
CI workflow dispatch wiring only; no application or release automation behavior change unless someone explicitly enables dry run.
Overview
Adds a
dryRunboolean (defaultfalse) to the Prepare release manualworkflow_dispatchform so operators can plan version and release notes without opening or refreshing the standing release PR.The stub now passes
dry-run: ${{ inputs.dryRun == true }}into the pinned reusable prepare workflow instead of requiring a commented-out line in YAML. Automatic runs after green CI still have noinputs, sodryRunevaluates false and behavior is unchanged.Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit ebd7eca. Note
Add
dryRuninput to the Prepare release workflow dispatchAdds an optional boolean
dryRuninput (default false) to theworkflow_dispatchconfig in release-prepare.yml. The manual-dispatch job now passesdry-run: trueto the reusable workflow only when that input is set, replacing the previous commented-out hard-coded dry-run setting.Macroscope summarized ebd7eca.
