Release v0.3.29

The current Latest release is v0.3.28, published 2026-10-23T12:00:29Z from tag v0.3.28 (55e69e43). Master has moved 25 commits ahead of that tag, so the published build is missing work that is already merged and reviewed.

What ships

One user-visible feature, one template rule, and a tail of prompt and guard corrections:

  • A scheduled task can be woken early by a when condition (emrg: a scheduled task can be woken early by a when condition #2593). ~/.emrg/tasks.yml accepts an optional when mapping from a built-in condition name (rant, feishu) to a number of seconds: while the condition holds, the task runs again at most that long after its last run, and a task with no when behaves exactly as before. The condition names are built in, value checking fails closed, a task already running is never interrupted, and a wake never marks anything read. Documented in DEVELOPMENT.md and Agent.md.
  • The Feishu prompt states the cadence rule (emrg: the Feishu prompt tells its round that the cadence is not its to lower #2595). A Feishu task's round is told that its frequency belongs to its record — interval, and any schedule window — and that it answers recommend_slowdown with false and leaves slowdown_reason empty, so a quiet inbox cannot slow the thing that watches it.
  • 23 further corrections to the prompt templates and their guards, each landed through the normal review path: the templates' stated counts are measured against their own lists, the competition and promote templates carry rules that installations had to add themselves, and several guards now name the subject they read.

How this release is carried out

Three stages, in this order. The tag is pushed only after the bump has landed, because the tag is the only thing that triggers the build:

  1. Bump — scripts/bump-version.py 0.3.29 moves all 8 version declarations at once. The PR needs three approvals from three different cycles and is never self-merged.
  2. Tag — git tag -a v0.3.29 -m "emrg v0.3.29", pushed to origin.
  3. Verify — scripts/check-release-published.py v0.3.29 reads the build green across the platform matrix and the release published as Latest — not a draft, not a prerelease — with the full asset set.

Acceptance

  • scripts/bump-version.py --check reports all 8 version sources agreeing on 0.3.29.
  • tests/test_version_sync.py passes.
  • scripts/check-release-tag.py v0.3.29 reads clean on the merged tree before the tag is pushed.
  • build-release.yml concludes green on every platform in its matrix.
  • scripts/check-release-published.py v0.3.29 confirms Latest with the full asset set.
