Description

The maintainer approved npm 1.20.1 on 2026-10-10. It ships #3382, which replaces the xcode package with an in-tree project.pbxproj parser so npm install stim and npx stim stop printing the uuid@7.0.3 deprecation warning. npm has 1.20.0 on latest.

Solution

• pnpm run release:prep 1.20.1 bumps the seven package manifests.
• docs/releases/1.20.1.md lists the user-facing changes since v1.20.0: the parser swap (Fixes), the stim guide tutorial changes from feat(desktop): tutorial guided steps: one Next, prompts, glows, live-view ticks, PR detection #3380, including the removed stim guide tutorial manual section, and the reworded ios.scheme setting description from docs: generate settings reference tables from the registry #3319 (Docs). The other merges since v1.20.0 (test: check desktop status fixtures and decoders against the producer contract #3325, feat: generate and bundle the Desktop tutorial illustrations #3379, polish(desktop): illustrated tutorial panel with a progress track #3383, feat(desktop): keep tutorial stats and complete App Logs from the Logs view #3384, polish(desktop): tutorial completion card with stats and achievements #3387) only change Stim Desktop, tests and the website.
• apps/mobile/src/generated/licenses.json is regenerated; only the @stim-cli/core version changes.

Pre-tag QA is omitted, as with 1.18.0 to 1.20.0; the notes' QA section says so and records the one native check that did run.

Test plan

• Native Xcode acceptance (Native E2E, native_ios_only, fixture) on main at eafc8cc, which contains the new parser: run 38083829755 passed.
• Local on this commit: format:check, lint, build, typecheck, knip, release:prep --check, CLI --version (1.20.1), --help, guide agent, guide tutorial manual (prints Unknown section "manual"), licenses:check, and pnpm tarball inspection of the seven packages (README and LICENSE present, versions 1.20.1, no workspace: ranges, no xcode dependency in stim).
• Unit, e2e, runtime and the full Windows suite run in CI on the exact main commit that gets tagged.

Fresh review of ee95737 (not the implementer): clear.

• Versions: all seven package.json files go 1.20.0 to 1.20.1 and nothing else in them changes. apps/mobile licenses.json changes only the @stim-cli/core version.
• docs/releases/1.20.1.md checked against git diff v1.20.0..origin/main -- packages:
  • Both commit SHAs exist and are linked in full.
  • e8f1499: xcode is gone from stim's dependencies, @xmldom/xmldom stays, and the in-tree parser is in the diff.
  • 52eba84: the run section gains the agent-device check with the installed-or-not fallback, the parallel prompt is added, and the manual section is deleted.
  • manual is no longer linked anywhere on origin/main website. v1.20.0 linked it from desktop.md:137 and getting-started.md:106.
  • Nothing is overclaimed, and the QA section states its deviation from RELEASE.md section 3.
• Run 38083829755: success, headSha eafc8cc, which includes the parser commit. The native Xcode acceptance job passed and the other jobs were skipped, as the notes say.
• needs-human: not required. This PR is a version bump and notes only, and touches no area in the AGENTS.md list.

Non-blocking nit: b52e08b changed the ios.scheme description in packages/core/state/settings-registry.ts to add "the --scheme flag overrides it". That text appears in stim settings and the shipped schema, and the notes do not mention it. It is a one-line wording change, so I did not block on it.

CI for the exact commit still has to be green before merge.

docs/releases/1.20.1.md line 18 still says "49 changed paths, 5 mapped to a row". node scripts/release-qa-matrix.mjs v1.20.0 run in .worktrees/release-1.20.1 reports 76 changed paths, 7 mapped, 0 unclassified. Please update the numbers and push.

Everything else checks out:

• Versions are 1.20.1 in all seven package.json files. Only the licenses.json version changed.
• The new ios.scheme Docs line matches b52e08b. test: check desktop status fixtures and decoders against the producer contract #3325 only adds a core test, so leaving it out is correct.
• Both commit SHAs exist and the tutorial and parser claims still match the diffs.
