bug(input): MatInputHarness#setValue does not dispatches a bubbleing event #34017

Closed

Description

@Totati

Is this a regression?

  • Yes, this behavior used to work in the previous version

The previous version in which this bug was not present was

No response

Description

Testing inputs with MatInputHarness is does not work so flawlessly, because when I have a native input listener in one of the input's parent element it does not get triggerd, so I have to manually dispach a new input event on the element which bubbles.
Input events should be dispatched with options { bubbles: true, composed: true, cancelable: false }, change events with { bubbles: true, composed: false, cancelable: false } but all these events are with { bubbles: false, composed: true, cancelable: true }

Reproduction

StackBlitz link: https://stackblitz.com/edit/sedhxyft
Steps to reproduce:
Run tests

I made the Stackblitz fork from 21.2.14 as the 22 versions don't run

Expected Behavior

It should mimic native browser behavior

Actual Behavior

It does not aligns with native browser behavior

Environment

  • Angular: 21.1.0
  • CDK/Material: 21.1.0
