The repository has no hosted check for its existing tests. Add one Linux/Python 3.12 job that runs the full pytest suite and builds the wheel and source distribution, with pinned actions and read-only permissions.
Local validation: all 4 existing tests passed; both package artifacts built; actionlint 1.7.12 and offline zizmor 1.31.1 passed. Hosted execution is pending this PR.
