124-189: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winExercise a pointer move to the other point.
The test currently covers only keyboard navigation. A pointer assertion that moves to
scene.points[1]would compare the existing body value2with2, so a stale body could pass. Use the grouped-focus fixture and move from the second point toscene.points[0], then assert1.Suggested fix

isInHostCommit and setTarget so reentrant callbacks from the tooltip body’s own

adapter-operation updates, ensuring null body targets are handled without
invoking flushSync during React commit.

179-179: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winKeep the warning spy active through unmount.
The unmount path can destroy the active tooltip and invoke its body callback. Restore
console.erroronly after unmount and its assertion. Use an innerfinallyso a failed assertion still restores the spy and removes the container.Suggested cleanup

Thanks @piotrkulpinski, the pointer regression coverage is useful. There is still a body-effect case the sibling markers miss. A smaller local correction removes those markers and leaves dismissed bodies on a normal state update, while keeping visible pointer updates synchronous.
|
…in the tooltip entry A dismissal now uses a plain state update, so a body that dismisses from its own effect no longer triggers the lifecycle warning. The host-commit guard moves from RendererChart into the tooltip entry, so default React entries keep their size.
|
Thanks @tannerlinsley, good catch on the child-only update. I've pushed your correction in 5e36c11:
I added your four cases (layout and passive, setup and cleanup), with a body that dismisses after updating only its own state. All four fail on the previous head and pass now. The host-commit test still fails without the moved guard. Locally, typecheck passes and all 2,258 tests pass. |
|
Thanks @piotrkulpinski, moving the markers into the tooltip entry removes the default React size blocker on 5e36c11. All 146 bundle checks now pass without changing limits.
|
…kers React 18 warns about useLayoutEffect during server rendering. The markers now use useEffect when document is undefined, as RendererChart does.
|
Thanks @tannerlinsley! Pushed the isomorphic effect for the markers in 2c38c19. React 18 |
Fixes #239
The core moves the tooltip element and calls
bodyChangein the same task.TooltipBodyanswered with a plainsetTarget(), which React renders in a later task when the call comes from apointermovelistener. So the browser painted the moved tooltip with the previous point's body for a frame.TooltipBodynow wraps the update influshSync, so the body commits before the paint. The exception is a repaint from the host's layout effects (adapter.update,mount,destroy). ThereflushSynccan't flush and logs a lifecycle warning.RendererChartImplementationmarks those calls, andTooltipBodyfalls back to a plainsetStateinside them, which React commits before the paint anyway. The same holds for a callback from the body's own effects, such asdismiss()from auseLayoutEffectoruseEffect. Two marker components around the portal's content mark that commit, so the body's effects get the plainsetStatetoo.Tests
A new test in
tooltip.test.tsxmoves the focus with a key press outsideactand expects the new body straight away. It then rerenders the host and asserts that nothing reachesconsole.error. The first assertion fails onmain. Without the commit guard, the second fails with theflushSyncwarning. Two more tests calldismiss()from the body's layout effect and from its passive effect, and expect the body gone with noconsole.error.pnpm typecheckandpnpm testpass.Summary by CodeRabbit
