**When TablePro starts** takes **Reopen Last Session** (the default) or **Show Welcome Screen**. What a reopened session brings back, and what it does when a server is down, is on [Tabs](/features/tabs#what-survives-a-restart).

**Show version and updates on the Welcome window** is on out of the box. Turn it off to drop the version and **Check for Updates…** from under the app icon. An update found in the background still shows there as **Update Available…**, and [Software update](#software-update) still checks.
