@t0mdavid-m, is PTMScanner still in use or maintained? Timo (@timosachsenberg) thinks the app can be archived.

Why now: OpenMS is retiring its contrib (OpenMS/OpenMS#10327). This repository's Windows installer workflow (build-windows-executable-app.yaml) builds OpenMS release/3.0.0 from source against whichever contrib release is the latest. That no longer fits:

• There is no contrib release for OpenMS 3.0.0.
• The latest contrib release is a build for OpenMS develop.
• OpenMS/contrib is about to stop publishing new releases (Stop publishing contrib releases and Docker images contrib#190).

Nothing breaks today, because no GitHub Actions workflow has ever run in this repository. The last commit is from 2024-12-16.

Archiving makes the repository read-only. It stays visible and can still be cloned.

If the app is still needed, the alternative is:

• move its Windows build to the reusable workflow that OpenMS/streamlit-template is getting (Windows: get OpenMS from a reusable workflow instead of a contrib build streamlit-template#409), which takes the TOPP tools from the official OpenMS installer instead of compiling OpenMS;
• update the app to a current OpenMS release.

That needs someone to test it with the newer SageAdapter.
