Code work happens in .claude/worktrees/<name> and scratch and evidence go in .scratch/, which never holds a checkout: the rule every repository now shares (JonsOCsetup docs/worktrees.md, Jon 2026-09-27: "we sometimes do work in run and sometimes in .worktree its confusing"). .claude/worktrees is Claude Code's built-in --worktree home and sits inside the repository, where a sandboxed Codex session can write.
