A stable thread list for bb. Threads stay where you put them while status, snooze, settle, and bulk actions remain close at hand.
- Manual ordering plus Recent activity, Date created, and Project sort modes
- Subtle project grouping for projects with multiple active threads
- Pinned, Active, Inactive, Snoozed, and Settled shelves
- Project filtering and multi-select bulk actions
- Automatic favicons, custom project icons, and two-step project removal
- Expandable child-thread indicators with running and attention states
- Live status, branch, pull request, and provider details
- Subtle port icons for identified server-owning threads, with workspace port details in the hover card
- Native bb navigation, split, rename, archive, and delete flows
- Project submenu on thread cards for settings, rename, local paths, and removal
- Regenerate a thread title from its last three accepted user messages
bb plugin install git:https://github.com/yusuf8834/bb-sidebar.gitThen choose BB Sidebar under Settings > Appearance > Sidebar.
Port discovery is built into BB Sidebar. Workspace scans refresh at most every 30 seconds and
include listening TCP ports owned by processes in the workspace and published
Docker Compose ports. Shared ports appear in the thread hover card. A row gets a
muted port icon, without a count, only when the listening process carries a
BB_THREAD_ID matching that thread and workspace. Missing or unreadable owner
metadata leaves the row unmarked. Scans
run on each workspace's machine and require macOS or Linux with lsof installed.
Docker is optional. Inaccessible processes and containers without a Compose
working-directory label cannot be attributed to a workspace.
BB's own server and worker listeners are excluded. User and agent app servers
remain visible, including servers launched through BB.
Environment locations are cached for one minute. Unreachable machines retry with
increasing delays, up to five minutes, and their stale ports are cleared.
To enable browser links, select Port links on this device in sidebar settings. Only ports on that selected host are linked; other hosts stay as text. IPv6 and concrete bind addresses are preserved. Links try HTTP, or HTTPS on 443 and 8443; known database and other non-web service ports stay as text.
Project icons use t3.json, common favicon and app icon paths, and local icon
metadata. To pick a different image, open BB Sidebar's plugin settings and use
the Project icons section. Projects without a matching image keep the
icon-free layout.
The Inactive shelf is enabled by default and moves unpinned threads after six hours without activity. Both the switch and hour threshold are available in BB Sidebar's plugin settings.
Automatic cleanup settles quiet threads after three days by default. It also settles closed pull requests, and the settings page controls whether merged pull requests settle automatically. Manual un-settle keeps a thread active until new work clears that override.
Right-click a thread and choose Regenerate title to summarize its last three accepted user messages, or fewer if available. Only message text is included, capped at 8,000 characters per message. Assistant replies, queued drafts, attachments, and older messages are excluded.
Generation uses a temporary hidden helper in a personal workspace, with the
model configured by BB_INFERENCE and BB_INFERENCE_FALLBACK for transient
failures. These settings must name installed agent providers, such as codex.
The current SDK cannot call bb's helper-inference service directly. The helper
is removed afterward; failed generation leaves the existing title in place.
