Adds `TypeSpec`, a declarative API for symbolic regression over arbitrary Julia value types: strings, vectors, tensors, and structs. A spec names the generated type, its fields, and Julia callables for sampling, mutation, printing, and validity; PySR compiles it into a deterministic fingerprinted Julia module. Operators, objectives, and hooks are passed as Julia source and dispatched through OperatorEnum. Supports scalar-constant optimization for custom types, template expressions over typed values, multiprocessing workers, and checkpoint restoration. feat: accept sample_weight as an alias for weights in fit feat!: require keyword arguments for TemplateExpressionSpec BREAKING-CHANGE: the deprecated positional and `function_symbols=...` forms of `TemplateExpressionSpec` are removed; pass explicit `combine=`, `expressions=`, and `variable_names=` keywords. fix!: bump the checkpoint schema to version 3 BREAKING-CHANGE: checkpoints written before this change (schema 2, from v2.0.0-beta.1 and earlier betas) fail to load with an explicit schema error rather than restoring incomplete state. fix: rebuild Julia-backed equation columns after unpickling TypeSpec and TemplateExpressionSpec models drop the live-Julia `julia_expression` and `lambda_format` columns when pickled and rebuild them on access, so `get_best`, `from_file`, and the export helpers work in a fresh process. docs: rewrite the examples for TypeSpec and template expressions --------- Co-authored-by: Miles Cranmer <miles.cranmer@gmail.com>
