Copier update: pnpm 12, relocated eslint resources - #21
Conversation
Brings in the pnpm 11 -> 12 migration hooks, the Edit()/write permission rename, and the move of the shared eslint resources into copier_template_resources/eslint/ alongside the new istanbul-ignore-if-must-throw rule. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The base template moved eslint.shared.mjs into copier_template_resources/eslint/, which left template/eslint.shared.mjs dangling. The shared config now also loads every rule in <project root>/.config/eslint-rules, so the new istanbul-ignore-if-must-throw rule is symlinked into the template there. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The copier update bumped the pinned copier, pyrefly, faker and pytest-randomly versions in pyproject.toml, so uv.lock and the devcontainer context hash both needed regenerating. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Pulls in the check-yaml --allow-multiple-documents change (pnpm 12 writes a two-document pnpm-lock.yaml) and the non-capturing group in the istanbul-ignore-if-must-throw rule, both from LabAutomationAndScreening/copier-base-template@0526bb0c. _commit now points at a dev ref, so confirm-on-tagged-copier-template will fail until that fix is merged and tagged upstream and this repo is updated to the tag. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Pulls LabAutomationAndScreening/copier-base-template@baef23ed, which shortens the comment above the check-yaml args to name pnpm as an example rather than explaining the pnpm 12 lockfile layout. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The pnpm 12 lockfile and eslint regex fixes this branch was pulling from a dev ref are now released, so _commit points at a clean release tag and confirm-on-tagged-copier-template can pass. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Ensure .config/eslint-rules resolves for the repository’s lint run.
loadLocalRules() runs at module scope. Because template/eslint.shared.mjs is a symlink, Node resolves import.meta.url to copier_template_resources/eslint/. The directory walk therefore checks the repository root for .config/eslint-rules, but that directory exists only under template/.config/eslint-rules. ESLint config loading fails with Could not find .config/eslint-rules under the project root before lint rules execute.

Align the spec import with its source location. copier.yml renders only template/, while this regular file is under copier_template_resources/eslint/ and has no template symlink. From that directory, ../../../../.config/... resolves outside the repository, so loading the spec cannot resolve the rule.
If this spec runs from the repository, use:
| import rule from "../../../../.config/eslint-rules/istanbul-ignore-if-must-throw.mjs"; | |
| import rule from "../../template/.config/eslint-rules/istanbul-ignore-if-must-throw.mjs"; |

Preserve flow-style YAML lists.
When the before-stage Copier migration reads minimumReleaseAgeExclude: ["@scope/*"], the empty-value check does not return. _parse_patterns keeps the YAML delimiters, and _sequence_lines rewrites the value as a list containing the literal string ["@scope/*"]. This changes the exclusion pattern.
Recognize a flow sequence before parsing it as legacy scalar content. Add a regression test for a non-empty inline list.

Pull in upstream template changes
Other
The upstream
istanbul-ignore-if-must-throw.spec.tsis deliberately not shipped into generated packages. It imports the rule via../../../../.config/eslint-rules/, a depth that fits afrontend/-style layout rather than this template's flattests/unit/, and placing it here would need a contrived directory just to satisfy the relative path. The rule is tested in the repos that do have that layout.Summary by CodeRabbit
