Why is this change necessary?

The Biome VS Code extension starts a session per workspace folder and warns when folders nest. Multi-root .code-workspace files that include the repo root (.) alongside subfolders trigger that warning.

How does this change address the issue?

The on-create script reads the path entries from each *.code-workspace file. When the root folder is among them, it writes { "biome.enabled": false } to .vscode/settings.json in every other listed folder that exists and doesn't already have that file. The root folder's Biome session already covers the nested folders.

What side effects does this change have?

The script leaves existing .vscode/settings.json files alone, so a nested folder that already has one still shows the warning. The written files are gitignored and only affect the local devcontainer.

Test plan

Manual: rebuilt the devcontainer and confirmed the Biome nested-folder warning toast no longer appears.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Development Environment
    • Workspace setup now detects workspace files that include the repository root and adds settings to disable Biome in existing non-root folders when they do not already have VS Code settings. Existing settings files are left unchanged, preserving any current folder-specific configuration. This affects development workspace setup; it does not change the application’s runtime behavior or user-facing features.

The Biome VS Code extension starts a session per workspace folder and warns
when folders nest. The root folder's session already covers nested ones, so
the on-create script writes a gitignored .vscode/settings.json disabling Biome
in each nested folder listed in a .code-workspace file that includes the root.

📝 Walkthrough

The devcontainer initialization script now adds Biome settings to eligible workspace folders that do not already have settings files. The devcontainer context hash comment also changes.

Some workspace layouts can leave nested Biome sessions active or disable Biome in a sibling folder. The impact is limited to local devcontainer editor behavior, so the merge risk is bounded.

Read the extracted paths line by line instead of word-splitting them, so a
path containing spaces is neither split into fragments nor glob-expanded.
The root folder's Biome session does not cover a sibling or absolute path, so
writing biome.enabled false there would leave that folder without Biome.
