Summary

  • Add repository guidance to invoke matching model-invoked Matt Pocock skills automatically while keeping user-invoked workflows user-led.
  • Configure GitHub Issues, the five canonical triage labels, and single-context domain documentation under docs/agents/.
  • Add any missing triage labels to this repository.

Validation

  • git diff --check passed.
  • Confirmed only AGENTS.md and the three docs/agents/ setup files changed.
  • Documentation-only change; product tests were not run.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Added guidance for using engineering skills, including repository governance, deterministic checks, and safe handling of credentials.
    • Documented GitHub issue-tracking workflows, triage labels, and issue-management conventions.
    • Added guidance on domain terminology, architecture decisions, and where to find or create domain documentation.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The repository guidance now covers agent skill use, GitHub issue workflows, canonical triage labels, and domain documentation conventions.

Changes

Agent guidance

Layer / File(s) Summary
Skill use and agent boundaries
AGENTS.md
Adds instructions for invoking skills, preferring deterministic checks, and limiting Jev to bounded tasks without sharing secrets or credentials.
Issue tracking and triage
AGENTS.md, docs/agents/issue-tracker.md, docs/agents/triage-labels.md
Documents GitHub issue operations, PR triage conventions, Wayfinder ticket handling, and five canonical triage labels.
Glossaries and ADRs
AGENTS.md, docs/agents/domain.md
Documents domain layouts and how to locate and use glossaries and applicable ADRs.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~8 minutes

Change: Other

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to d5137

This PR only adds agent guidance documents. The blocker-filtering step in the issue-tracker guide may not work as written, so an agent could pick a ticket that is still blocked. Clarify that step, but it should not hold up the merge.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to d5137

The new guidance preserves explicit authorization requirements for remote changes. No exploitable security defect was established, but publication permissions, handling of untrusted issue content, and recovery from interrupted issue updates remain unverified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The described writes affect GitHub issue content, labels, assignments, relationships, closure, and map references. Effective repository reach and privilege are governed by the executing credentials, which were not supplied; maximum attackable scope cannot be established from these documents.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • observed — The supplied injection candidate is deferred, not verified. Its cited issue-creation sink and guidance propagation are present, but neither establishes a runtime path from attacker-controlled issue content to shell execution.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The documented authority boundary preserves explicit authorization for remote mutations and makes skill output subordinate to governance. External PRs are not enabled as a request surface. These are policy controls, not evidence of runtime enforcement or safe shell quoting.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — Selection and assignment are separate operations, as are commenting, closure, and map updates. Without caller-side conditional claiming, postcondition checks, and recovery, concurrency or interruption could leave ownership or completion records inconsistent. The guide does not specify those controls; their absence from the runtime is unproven.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Before relying on automated publication, validate the actual caller's separation of issue data from instructions and shell syntax, authorized identity and repository scope, and recovery behavior for contested claims or partially completed resolution.

- **Map**: a single issue labelled `wayfinder:map`, holding the Notes / Decisions-so-far / Fog body. `gh issue create --label wayfinder:map`.
- **Child ticket**: an issue linked to the map as a GitHub sub-issue (see **Make an issue a sub-issue of a parent**). Where sub-issues aren't enabled, add the child to a task list in the map body and put `Part of #<map>` at the top of the child body. Labels: `wayfinder:<type>` (`research`/`prototype`/`grilling`/`task`). Once claimed, the ticket is assigned to the driving dev.
- **Blocking**: GitHub's **native issue dependencies**, the canonical, UI-visible representation. Add an edge with `gh api --method POST repos/<owner>/<repo>/issues/<child>/dependencies/blocked_by -F issue_id=<blocker-db-id>`, where `<blocker-db-id>` is the blocker's numeric **database id** (`gh api repos/<owner>/<repo>/issues/<n> --jq .id`, _not_ the `#number` or `node_id`). GitHub reports `issue_dependencies_summary.blocked_by` (open blockers only, the live gate). Where dependencies aren't available, fall back to a `Blocked by: #<n>, #<n>` line at the top of the child body. A ticket is unblocked when every blocker is closed.
- **Frontier query**: list the map's open children (`gh issue list --state open`, scoped to the map's sub-issues / task list), drop any with an open blocker (`issue_dependencies_summary.blocked_by > 0`, or an open issue in the `Blocked by` line) or an assignee; first in map order wins.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Use a supported field for the blocker check.

Line 44 lists gh issue list but filters on issue_dependencies_summary.blocked_by. That property is not a gh issue list --json field; the CLI exposes blockedBy and blocking. An agent following the listed command cannot apply this filter and may select a child that is still blocked. Use --json blockedBy and filter its nodes for state == "OPEN", or document the gh api request that returns the REST summary. (cli.github.com)
